I will say, not really a fan of the Cal Arts animation-style, it's been overused to the point that I consider it a style that studios use to mass produce cartoons with writing and artistic talents taking a backseat.

I'm not a fan of that art style either. Or the fact that it sounds like it'll be more slice-of-life than FiM was. I'll check it out when it airs. Hopefully it isn't terrible.

Oh, Lord. They're Teen Titans Going it...

Calarts style was coined by John Kricfalusi to refer to Disneyesque animation, not the modern 2010s rounded style. Pony Life seems more Chibi/SD inspired than anything else. It seems like Hasbro is trying to keep G4 going for as long as possible as they wait for the G5 reboot in 2020/2021. But I'm glad the original VAs are back for Pony Life.

BTW I keep seeing these 35th Anniversary My Little Pony G1 at a garden centre

Just now I felt guilty for having 14 unread chapters on my Fimfiction account, and then remembered I have 850+ from AO3 in my email inbox and felt better. Life is weird.

Personally, I blame the people who wrote them for writing so many good things :p

Hey guys, it's been a while. Image

How have you been? I stopped watching the show years ago, but it isn't something I'll ever forget. I still keep up with some of the art.

I watched all the way til the end with "The Last Problem" and now I'm re-reading the comic book series. How have you been?

The problem with pony names.

One of the best moment in the series.

The only good scene from that God-awful episode.

The pony version of "We have clearance, Claerence." "Roger Roger. What's our vector, Victor?"

Which was based on Abbott & Costello Who's on First.

finally saw power ponies.

Fun episode, works well as both a super hero spoof and a more adventurous mlp episode

Reminded me a bit of mermaid man and barnacle boy 5

I don’t think it’s necessary to spoiler an episode that’s been around for five years or so.

Someone once yelled at me about "spoiling" the fact that Luke and Leia are brother and sister. In the 2010s.

Does anyone else think we'll get an Intra-Franchise Crossover (like Turtles Forever or Teen Titans vs Teen Titans Go!) between MLP Generation Four and Generation Five at some point? Seems plausible.

I don’t see it myself. For a glorified toy commercial like MLP, it would only be truly meaningful if the two generations maintain their original toy molds, and that might not make the most sense from a business perspective. I’ve definitely heard rumors that G5 will directly transition from G4 in story, but that seems short of what the crossover is supposed to be.

I was thinking a few years into when G5 is established, maybe as some kind of anniversary special for FiM or the franchise as a whole. They did bring back g1 moulds for a special collector set.

I could see a crossover like that maybe happening.

Or they might be mocking him. That's what my brothers liked to do when I was watching.
