All the stop-motion "voices" are weird in these things. Kinda predictable that RD would decide to speed the thing up like that.

Yeah, but the point is the other ponies still sound like adults, AJ sounds more like a child. Ironic, considering she is the most mature of the Mane cast.

I visited Brighton Museum today.

The museum of Transology was there from 2017 to early 2020. This included a Rainbow Dash doll donated by a trans person. I wonder what this person thought of the finale.

First time I heard of this. I suspect it was only a coincidence and the petition had little to do with it. While of course there’s a big difference between petitioning for something not yet created and petitioning to revise something already done, I somehow find it odd that a mere 269 people (not in the target demographic!) can call for a specific children’s episode, but at least a thousand times more people couldn’t convince HBO to revise Game of Thrones’ season 8.

Yeah, it was probably coincidental (change.org being notorious for allowing you to make petitions about literally ANYTHING) but my point was (some) people did want it to happen.

You do have to pity Vincent Tong though TBH, as he kept playing characters fans disliked like Prince Blueblood, Garble and Flash Sentry (who was only disliked for being Twilight's love interest). The only exception was Doughnut Joe and he appeared far less often than the aformentioned trio. I'm glad he got to be Sandbar in the young six.

Finally saw Best Gift Ever

It was a fun, alright special but the first two Hearth's Warming Eve episodes were better (I liked it more than the Hearth's Warming club though)

Speaking of, I was confused that it showed the Young Six going to their homelands when they said they would stay at school in the episode. It was said to take place between season 8 or season 9, implying a longer gap between the events of the S8 and the S9 Premiere.

It may seem like Rainbow Dash and Rainbow Dash don't have that much in common when you try to put it into words, but sometimes friendships can't be explained. You just have to see them in action to understand.

I kind of think the producers got greedy signing on some fairly well-known comic book writer.

This may be the first time in a while I’ve lost a bit of faith in the writers.

Yeah, I saw this was written by Gail Simone. Not sure why. She doesn't do animation that much. Only did one episode of Justice League and even it was meh.

I mean what's this bullshit about them not being able to throw a party? They have freaking Pinkie Pie there. They've literally had her put together giant parties in a snap.

Wouldn't be the first time a well-known comic book writer worked on MLP, actually. Gerry Conway (The guy who wrote Spider-Man from 1972-1975 (including the famous Gwen Stacy Dies storyline), created the Punisher in The Amazing Spider-Man #129 and also wrote JLA from 1978-1986) also wrote a few episodes of the 80s cartoon (My Little Pony N Friends) alongside his first wife Carla.

Just finished the entire series (including movies). Thank heavens I don't need to view anymore. I can move onto something darker now, but I need something bright to contrast with that on occasion in terms of entertainment.

Got too far into the series to quit but wanted to towards the end but kept at it at a slower pace. I'd say the series as a whole peaked in quality when Tirek was introduced. The final few seasons were weaker but salvageable. The final season I wouldn't call a strong finish, its highlight for me was Tirek defeating the Pillars in battle; but was an okay conclusion in terms of wrap up.

I still need to watch the rest of the EQG movies/specials after Rainbow Rocks (and I want to rewatch the first two so I can review them). Just working my way through season 9 currently.
