Why are there people obsessed with a dumb tv show for little children?

1. We are not "obsessed" with it. We simply enjoy it.

2. So what if it is for kids? There is nothing wrong with simply enjoying a kids show.

I kind of think the producers got greedy signing on some fairly well-known comic book writer.

Yeah, I saw this was written by Gail Simone. Not sure why. She doesn't do animation that much. Only did one episode of Justice League and even it was meh.

I mean what's this bullshit about them not being able to throw a party? They have freaking Pinkie Pie there. They've literally had her put together giant parties in a snap.

I'm not going to stop being a fan of MLP after this show is over. Just like I'm still a fan of other TV shows that have ended.

I haven't watched the show in ages, yet I still do fan art, albeit mostly consuming it than producing it.

I'm the opposite. I never miss an episode, but my fan content production for it is borderline nonexistent. That story I did back in April was the first fan piece of it I'd done since 2013.

As a spectator with occasional interest in how My Little Pony managed to reach beyond the original fan-base of little girls and their parents, I wonder what is the future direction for My Little Pony fan-base?

I think it is gradually returning to the original fanbase, but the biggest legacy is the debate on gender stereotyping in children’s toys. I did a uni paper on gender stereotyping in 2014, but it was about Barbie and Ken. I still have that (Dolls of the World) Spanish Barbie that I bought, just for the paper.

I see Hasbro as wanting to continue that trend, and thus will still cultivate a sizable periphery demographic, but ultimately we must see what G5 has to offer.
