I'm finally caught up with all episodes/movies/etc. for this year. I didn't feel like going back to it for the longest time but I got around to it. I didn't like half of it but I loved the other half of the new episodes. Was a mixed bag for me. I'd say the best thing about season 8 was Cozy Glow, I hope to see her return soon.

I'm disappointed that Neighsay became a liberal. He truly spoke the kind of language I like. He was the right kind of nationalist patriot by pony standards. The only fault I see with him was trying to interfere with Twilight's school. It'd be no harm in my view for him to just let it be.

So I finally got around to the finale. It was okay.

Glad they didn't pull another bit of reformation. No, they locked her crazy ass up. I approve.

I take it you didn't quite like "The Washouts." I can understand. It's hard to have hopes for a favorite character dashed like that.

9 Seasons is almost a decent enough run for a show like this. I think it could finish strong. I wanted 10 seasons but didn't care too much about it getting 11 or more seasons. It ending now might be just right.

The con is that several if not many characters were never truly given a ton of screen time or exploration such as Matilda Donkey, Silver Spoon, Diamond Tiara and her mom and etc. Spoiled Rich has a bad attitude "just because" so far as where things stand now.

It mainly revolved around the main 6 ponies (later extended out to 9 or 10), along with the CMC and classmates on occasion, and the royalty, before focusing on that whole Hogwarts style school idea and the new main 6 or so students at Twilight's school becoming the new focus. With only one season left, that's not a lot of room to wrap things up if they just became the new main characters more or less; but maybe its as good of a place as any to start. We'll see I guess.

If Equestria Girls is tied to this show, will it be ending in sync with this one, or be continuing to approximately the same length as how long this show ran if not longer? My thinking is that it'll be ending in sync if the intention is just to keep it to movies or shorts. But will be continuing if its extended out into a proper episodic series beyond what exists of it now.

Agreed. Lots of characters have fallen by the wayside when there are so many questions to be answered with them.

I’ve heard EQG will continue more or less as usual until G5 comes around.

I am currently watching this show.

(my hosts have a little kid of eight)

I neither see the appeal nor a drawback of this show.

It's just a kids show *shrug*

Don't be ridiculous :p

Then again, I knew the show was meh to me, I once reviewed it, a few years ago

Edit: at least the dubbing is a variety of Dutch and Flemish accents :)

I haven't been posting here in a while, mostly because I lost interesting in watching it, though I still look at fanart, because ponies are cute.

Anything in particular made you lose interest? Perhaps I can rehabilitate it.

It's cute, but not as interesting, I rarely watched an episode twice, and even moved on to other interests.

For me, I guess I just lost interest out of over saturation. When the show was shiny and new, it was exciting, but now...I dunno. I think some of the best episodes of the series have come from the recent seasons, and I love Starlight Glimmer, but the show just doesn't capture me like it used to. I watch it, and I enjoy watching it, but I'm not that invested in it anymore.

Basically this. Watching this show meant something different in 2011 than it does now. Faust made children shows have real plots.
If there is a G5 and Faust is given complete creative control over it, maybe I'll consider watching it, but as it stands, it's cool that this show got 9 seasons, even if most of them were boring, it's nice that the show had an episode 100, that it created an online "movement" for a few years. I owe a lot to this show for shaping my personality, and I'm not gonna forget that or call it off as something silly I used to enjoy eight years ago, it was and still is integral to my character.
RIP nostalgia. Time to move on to the adult world.
