This new episode.
Maybe its because i'm stoned.
But oh my god.
It's awesome.

That opening, what the fuck, pinkie is crazy. Like, she's always been crazy. But I realized i'd gotten used to the crazy. This was shockingly crazy again.

And business pony was cool.

I actually found the thin pony portrayed as cool / fat pony is a joke in itself thing kind of funny on a meta level, because I already know the commentary that will occur, and it kind of seems like they are intentionally trolling. Which is great.

But then you think "show for kids" and think oh no. We've basically forced hasbro to troll children. For years.

Weird adult moral too. Children will not understand this episode.

Blue fashion male pone had a great few moments too, and dat face.

MASS PRODUCTION IS EVIL!

The song and reprise was good.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Oh I won't deny Rarity could have handled her dealings with Sassy much better (though I would not call her a colossal [expletive] as their are plenty of far more colossal [expletives] that set the bar to high for Rarity to reach currently. Sassy however didn't have a good long term plan and Rarity's concerns were valid if ill expressed. However their would have been a third option rather than Sassy's capitulation, with the profits from the initial juggernaut of the Princess line hiring more tailors to work on the pieces could have been an option (not sure on that though) and allowing them to come up with their own design, not only allowing for greater production while allowing for more creativity but setting up a master apprentice system that would provide good long term health to the boutique.

Well, looks like I'll have to disappoint you, Ameri. No worst-pone rant today. Not because I enjoyed it, mind you, but because this episode was pretty forgettable. Nothing interesting happened. By the time the song was over I forgot what happened before that. Or maybe I repressed it. Did they introduce a pony worse than What's-her-name with the saddle or the grating prick with the glasses and camera? Because I'm pretty sure that would do it. Incredibly fuzzy moral, introduced two ponies that were amazingly even more annoying than Rarity, and not only did the pass up a chance to write her the hell out of the show, they actually made an even worse version of her an eventually recurring character!


Overall thoughts: 3/10. This episode was just plain bad. Absolutely disappointing, even if it is the first new pony in two months. Provisionally, I consider this the worst episode of the season.

I want to punch it. I want this episode to physically manifest as a living person so that I can punch that person in the face. Maybe I'm overreacting some because it was such a let-down after two months, but ugh.

Yes even worse than Princess Spike. It's always at least kind of funny to see Spike be an irresponsible shit and then have to make a desperate, futile, last-minute scramble to fix his own fuckery. This, though? The only thing about this episode I really like were a couple of the ponies they introduced, and the ones I liked were barely in the episode.

rarity is...well, rarity. besides that, episode is plain, simple, 'already saw that' feeling is felt everywhere

super-fat pony in the end was literally only interesting stuff there.
