So seeing the lack of speculation we have going on at the moment here's a curios discovery for those not afraid of possible spoilers.

So from this Hasbro released poster their seems to be a hint in the cake (IE a baby stroller decoration on the top of it) that Cadance and Shining Armor may finally have a foal. Ignoring whether or not Hasbro is trolling us (yeah yeah the cake is a lie, we all get the reference) and assuming the "heir" (given the possible longevity of alicorns [and the debate on possible differences between Celestia and Luna as compared to Twilight and Cadance as Alicorns] I hesitate with the term) to the Crystal Empire shall soon be born we have a few questions before ourselves.

1. Is this foal the (in)famous Princess Skyla who has been long hinted/teased by tweets and toys alike?

2. If yes what does that mean for their being born Alicorns vs. ascended Alicorns?

3. If no what will the childs gender and pony race be, and what are the possiblie implications of each race/gender combination?

4. Will the episode(s) this occur in actually be good and what would it entail in the episode, more family friendly and just new baby anxieties, or will we have to worry about GOT level of plotting from some villainous force (almost certainly returned Changelings/Sombra if not yet another new villain) where we'll have to simply worry about the baby even joining the land of the living (beyond the fact its still a show for a little girls giving an almost certain guarantee for the childs survival)?

5. Will the foal have any impact on the show?

These of course are just some of the things to speculate on their are probably more, just figured I'd get the ball rolling.

On a related note I find it curious that as the Starks falls in one frozen North a new lineage rises in yet another frozen North. ("A Canterlot Wedding" airing around the time the "Rains of Castamere" with the infamous Red Wedding aired in the tv series and now following the rather grim situations for most of our remaining Starks Jon Snow being confirmed as dead (though some could argue this doesn't rule out an Azor Ahai/Jon Stark/Jon Targaryen emerging from a Lord of Light induced ressurection) Sansa and Theon's less than brilliant escape from Winterfell, and Arya being left blind, we are also learning of the possibility of a new member for the Crystal Empires Royal family.

Hopefully once the wolves come again the Crystal Empire won't suffer a decline in turn.

That sounds like a perfectly reasonable explanation for the cake. Of much more interest to me is the lack of a certain group of Fillies of Mass Destruction, and the only reason I can think of for that is that they're finally getting their fucking cutie marks, which is further reinforced by all three of them appearing to be looking back at their flanks, which are clearly on display.

Other things of note: I'm seeing what looks like a group of three foals in front of Twilight's friends from Canterlot, possibly another group of three (adults this time) behind Gummy, and I'm going to guess that either the guy to the left of the yaks or underneath Steven Magnet is the finale villain.

And I just realized this, but there's apparently another pony in there with the Mane Six.

1. I dunno. Last time Skyla had any coverage was two years ago. They've got a tendency to not foreshadow new ponies in the toy line as equally as when they do, if not more often. I'm still waiting for Emerald Sky (you remember, the green stallion that appeared with a Crystal Empire-ish toy set with the Mane 6? Yeah, I didn't think so. That wasn't quite his name, but whatever...).

2. Well, that obviously means that both are possible. Wilgrove's "Buddhist ascendance" theory is shattered to pieces, but other than that, nothing totally surprising.

3. It's best just to roll the dice on this one, especially if you subscribe to the affair theory of the Cake twins.

4. It's probably going to just be family-friendly slice of life. Starlight's reappearance in the finale (where villains must appear as a rule, if not the opener) is too likely a possibility to have SA and Cadence's new-foal plot get in the way (unless she wants to indoctrinate the new foal). Beats me if it'll be any good-- the rate the show is going, I'm leaning towards "no".

On another note, the "baby even joining the land of the living" sounds easily construed as a metaphor for the thorny issues of contraception, abortion, etc.-- no way Hasbro's going to do anything like that.

It was free view, as far as I'm aware, and I have a cable set that doesn't allow me to view tiny pop, so I watch MLP on my IPad (via streams) instead. How do you watch MLP:FiM? On TV (on discovery family/tiny pop), online, on DVD, on iTunes, on (American) Netflix (the UK version only has the equestria girls movies )?
