I just saw that picture again with a caption saying "The continuity error is Amethyst's hair".

Yes, but also remember in "So Many Birthdays" It's mental state that helps. Amethyst felt more like a kid, so a kid she was. Losing Rose and living with Greg and having Steven come into her life matured her mentally again.

At the least, that's my headcanon.

Except that episode establishes that it's a Steven thing, whatwith the Crystal Gems being utterly surprised by how his state of mind affects his age. Not to mention there's the issue of Amethyst being a different size than when she was dug from her "me-sized" hole the day she was "born".

I've seen the "Different sized" thing. She wasn't any smaller than normal. I think she just looked smaller cause Rose is like, 8 feet tall.

They also looked younger, something that was not the case in the old timey photo where Garnet was punching the shark. It's likely either a continuity error or Greg being an unreliable narrator.

So what are y'alls bets on Peridot or Lapizza Lamemer Lapis Lazuli getting a redemption episode? Or, /gasp/ Big Buff Cheeto Puff getting a redemption episode?

Because Lapis deserved better ;v;

You got me there. Maybe they just changed looks in their downtime. I mean, Pearl's 80's look was in her regeneration cycle in "Steven The Sword Fighter".

Pretty sure "Redemption" is gonna be about Centipeetle. I mean, who else would it be? Peridot is MIA, and that...thing Lapis and Jasper made is stuck at the bottom of the ocean.

Given that Rebecca Sugar did put significant references to the background of all the gems, be it from the 'spiritual gems' aspect as well as geology, one could assume that monster Malachite has already split back into Jasper and Lapis. In this case, Lapis would have to 'stay within the ocean' or something of the sort to keep Jasper locked up.

Besides, the stone Malachite does react chemically in water. And Malachite is already inherently unstable upon fusion, so maybe we may see a redemption episode somewhere along the line with them. One could interpret Jasper trying to break the fusion as that very reaction when they sank underwater.

So they may have split. But yeah, if there is an episode on these two, it won't be for a long time/higher chance of the two being irredeemable if Malachite has 'permanently fused' if Pearl is to be believed re: Coach Steven.

I'm not quite sure how she would redeem herself, but she is a young gem and it may play out in a manner that aligns with her apathetic nature of doing things.

Episode 58 maybe?

Also there is a fan theory running amok about episode 58 with Pearl.

Eh, that's just baseless speculation. All it says it "A monster loose in the temple." It doesn't even mention Pearl.

Steven, Garnet, and Amethyst chase after a monster loose in the Temple.

It doesn't mention pearl on the wikipedia episode list, hence the speculation.

My bets are on centipeetle's return and 'redemption' as well Steven finding a way to heal corrupted gems. That, or Malachite returns.

Well, "Love Letters" did a few things.

100% confirmed that yes, Ruby and Sapphire be totally gay for each other.
Had an awesome subversion of the love at first sight crap.
And put a stake through a good chunk of the shipping fandom.
