Normally I don't mind filler episodes, but I'm mildly offended that these latest episodes pretend to advance the plot but collectively barely do anything. The pacing on the show has never bugged me more.

The upcoming special better be fucking fantastic.

I prefer to be optimistic when it comes to the special. It can't get any worse.

I’ve been saying the filler has been becoming problematic, it’s almost like they don’t know what to do next. Or they don’t want to finish the show.

I think they've had the overarching beats planned out since the start (iirc the Rose twist was outlined in the story bible from what I've heard) but either they didn't really have a plan with the exact pacing and how to do everything they wanted or the Network ordered more episodes then they were actually prepared to make.

The main story, I'd say, is clearly entering its climax and with a movie still on the horizon I wouldn't be shocked if they announced it was ending somewhat soon.

That part where that Steven Melon was brutally sacrificed to appease the war-god was pretty dark, I'm shocked at how well the crewniverse animates gore and how it got passed the censors is baffling.

There are now several hundred(Thousand?) Uncorrupted Crystal Gems who don't know the truth about Pink Diamond and some will probably want to stay at the temple with Steven.

TBH probably the coolest fusion in general. Dat lava sword.

On another note, White Diamond was sorta creepy. Really liked some of the rotating shots and different angles that she was given.

Hmm...now I just wonder what else is in store, if there's still more episodes and a movie in the works.

The animation in White's head was simply superb all around, people aren't that far off the mark by calling Steven fusing with himself as "Disney quality" I sincerely hope we get that kind of extravagance for the movie.

I've heard some rumors that we're getting nine seasons, which means four more. But, personally, I think the show's winding down with the main plot and Steven's character arc over. He's learned to accept himself, the Diamond's fixed their dysfunctional relationships, and everyone's the better for it. Alls that's left is some closure with side characters and maybe an arc with everyone adapting with the new status quo.

Crewniverse might also do something really wack, but honestly I'd be shocked if we got two more seasons. Six might be it.

Meh, main plot might be over, but I think there's still room for smaller arcs, like some Gems resisting the new changes, and let's not forget Jasper. I'd dig that.

Anyways, six seasons, nine, doesn't matter too much to me. I'd like more, but this last episode and the movie seem like good endings.

I did think the animation during the showdown was fantastic. It was surprising, since I know animation tends to vary by episode at times, but this one was definitely the best in terms of how fluid everything was, and at how varied the action was. If every episode looked that good, it would make the show so much better.

I felt kind of overwhelmed with the amount of fusions they introduced in such a short timeframe, Rainbow 2.0 is fine for the most part but Sunstone's design just feels kinda half-baked.

But I was not a fan. I get the joke and all. Riffing on those corny late 80's-90's characters who preached to the kids during the after credits bit. But they really screwed us there, too. I've been wanting Steven to fuse with Garnet since I found out what Fusions are, and it produces...that.

I mean I'm glad she's not a Sexy Woman, bc I feel like that'd be creepy...but still, if her character's personalty is just a psa joke then that's really just. disappointing
