No, those who can read Japanese (or is it typed in Korean I genuinely can't tell) learn why they really work together.

Christ, this is why I never talk to you.
But Herms98 translated it, or you can just go to YouTube and watch one of the thirty videos of people talking about it.

One of the things I was really hoping for with Super was getting some focus on other characters and not just one titantic threat to the Earth/universe/multiverse/whatever after another. I really can't even honestly call these short 1-3 episode mini-arcs filler: they move along at a comfortable pace, they don't drag the way true filler drags, they don't overstay their welcome, and they actually develop the characters.
I mean, hell, Krillin's confidence issue was none-too-subtly indicated clear back in the Resurrection F stuff, and I am really liking the fact we seem to be headed for a resolution to that hanging character thread. Unlike most of the other fighters, he was there at the beginning, back before the insurmountable strength gap was a thing, when he COULD potentially have matched and exceeded Goku. He watched that gap develop, and unlike Yamcha, he still tried to stick with it for a very long time despite the futility of the attempt.
Overall, I am a-okay with more of these short 1-3 episode character-driven arcs before we jump into the next major arc. With how high the stakes were and how intense the stuff with Black and Zamasu got, it's nice having these lower-intensity storylines to wind down before we get all revved up for the upcoming and ominously named Universe Survival arc!

I liked the episode a lot, but I had 3 little nitpick problems with it1. Gohan saying he doesn't fight anymore. we know that he has been training so this is an error.
2. Krillin getting injured by a bullet. no matter how little he has trained, there's no way Krillin could ever be injured by a bullet.
3. the way 18 chewed him out about getting hurt. it felt needlessly cruel and out of character.

3. the way 18 chewed him out about getting hurt. it felt needlessly cruel and out of character.I dunno, I kinda agree with the points MasakoX made in his discussion video of the episode, plus:
1. We know Gohan's been back in training off-camera, but I could see him having some fairly serious psychological hangups due to all the crap he grew up with, and wanting to deliberately keep his fighting life segregated from his "normal" life by way of his whole Great Saiyaman persona. Especially in the wake of the previous two episodes with the movie fiasco. Sure, it was kinda stupid that he was sticking to routine with his own dad like that, but after coming so close to having his identity blown recently, putting Videl and his own daughter in harm's way, it's not entirely unexpected that he'd be trying to make sure he's in the habit of keeping those aspects of his life cleanly divided.
2. I think it was less "hasn't been training" and more "his lack of training has made him get sloppy." Remember that Goku of all people got one-shotted by a pudgy midget with freakin' ring-laser. Krillin getting injured in a careless moment isn't that unbelievable. Like Goku, he got careless enough that he was vulnerable enough for somebody to get a lucky shot.
3.18 lives with Krillin, she of all people is probably the most profoundly aware of Krillin's doubts and faltering confidence (and maybe outright depression?) over time as the strength gap between him and his best friend has grown into an insurmountable chasm. I read her chewing him out less as a cruel jab and more the fact that she is very seriously worried about him- if his confidence issues have led to his abilities deteriorating so much that some shmuck with a gun was able to hurt him, then he's in a position where he could get very seriously wounded or worse. So she gave him a firm kick in the pants in her own special way to get him to recognize that he has a problem and needs help overcoming it, that his coping mechanism thus far is not working. I mean, look at the look that she gives him when he asks her if it's okay if he leaves to go with Goku. That expression spoke volumes, love for her husband, and relief that he's taking those steps toward overcoming those doubts that have clearly plagued the poor guy since at least the Resurrection F arc if not longer.

Here's his commentary on the ep. (Also, it is WEIRD hearing him talking with his regular accent. He does an amazing job of eliminating his natural accent when he's voicing Goku and Gohan in Abridged!) Several of his Dragonball discussion videos are fairly interesting, too.
