Pretty much. Plus up until Jaco called out the needle, everyone was buying Frost's 'sporting, good fellow' act so nobody was expecting him to be such a rotten cheat. Piccolo could have won against Frost via his strategy if not for the needle. Had Goku not been taking his sweet time fucking around to try and make the fight more fun, the slimy lizard probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to use it at all.

Piccolo could've just torn his arm off before the poison could spread.

It shouldn't have worked on Piccolo regardless. The length that his arm was stretched would have made it impossible for the poison to travel.

But this is DBZ we're talking about. And to Super's credit, it's far more consistent than the original series, but it's still kinda weird.

It could've still traveled, but realistically it would've taken long enough for Piccolo to tear off the affected area and regenerate it.

Fun fight between Goku and Toppo, even if it was cut short. Listening to Goku this episode though, I think I'm starting to get on board with that whole "#orangeisthenewblack" joke I've seen floating around the fandom, even the way his Japanese VA was enunciating a bunch of Goku's dialogue was uncomfortably reminiscent of how she voiced Black with that slightly creepy/sinister inflection.

I honestly thought they'd have more prep time ahead of the tournament itself though. I mean, not even two full days? Even if they abuse the everloving crap out of the time chamber, that is not nearly enough time to put the entire team through its paces for the purpose of ironing out any sort of coherent team strategy. I mean, it's a pretty safe assumption thanks to Goku getting his due blame for the coming universe demolition and his downright flippant "COME AT ME BRO!" attitude that the gods of the other universes are going to tell their teams to get U7 out of the running first thing. Which translates possibly to all 70 of the other combatants temporarily calling a truce among themselves to focus fire on the U7 team, and Goku especially. U7 needs to have some sort of tactics to play to everyone's individual strengths if they want to have a prayer of holding off an assault of that scale!

Also, interesting to see the Zen-Oh overruled like that. Somebody knows how to manipulate the little eldritch horror, clearly.
