I don't personally care for tension, as long as the action is good I'm satisfied.

Yeah. I mean, in all fairness they did kinda write themselves into a corner with Zamasu, but they could have better foreshadowed certain things.

For instance, Trunks' big powerup at the tail end of the fight. They had plenty of opportunity ahead of that to hint that the survivors have been subconsciously pooling their own energy to support their beacon of hope there, instead of pulling "Spirit Bomb sword ver" and that unexplained not-quite-Blue transformation out of nowhere.

And I'm still annoyed by the "Potara fusion is only permanent for Kais" retcon bullshit. MISSED OPPORTUNITY, OMFG SRSLY. It was totally unnecessary. Fused Zamasu was a serious enough threat to conceivably have overpowered Vegito without the whole "Oh, the fusion ran out whoops" nonsense, leaving Trunks to come in relatively fresh and with the crowd backing him to finish the job. Plus good gods, the opportunity for hilarious character interactions and awkwardness in the post-arc cooldown episodes with the rest of the cast having to deal with Vegito until they could use the dragonballs to unfuse him!

Oh good gods, Black in XV2 sounds like Batman throat cancer. Waaaay too fucking gutteral and raspy. I mean, still sounds creepy, but ... eh. I really hope they dial it back some for the actual dub where they can spend the time to properly direct the voicework. I'm sure the voicework for XV2 was probably rushed in comparison.

... Not going to lie though, I really, really enjoyed finally getting to smash his face in, bringing the full wrath of my future Trunks fangirl fury to bear.

EDIT TO ADD: Haven't played a mission where SSJR puts in an appearance, so I can't comment on how he sounds yet. Maybe tomorrow.

XV2, hands down. Vastly improves on stuff from XV1, more options, more characters, and so on. Better AI, better combat system, and way less bullshit fake difficulty compared to XV1 as well. (Those two !$^# DLC Expert Missions notwithstanding, anyway.)

Super Black Rose Kamehameha is pretty cool in my opinion but its damage

Quite frankly, the voices of Champa, Vados, Black Rosé and Zamas are incredibly disappointing. Super Saiyan Rosé Black's voice sounds so much different to his base form. As for Zamas, Marsters' portrayal of him was terrible, just terrible...

Regarding Champa, I picture him with a voice similar in tone to Beerus' but that's as far as I can describe my vision. For some reason I think Vados should sound more innocent, yet menacing.

If there's one thing that'll please me though, it'll be if make Helles' voice have a seductive tone when they get to that stage.

Well, Black was preorder bonus DLC a year ago when the game first came out and I think before that arc had even finished airing in Japan. So those lines were recorded ages ago and without a comprehensive grasp of the character or his personality. Small wonder base form Black sounds different compared to the much newer Rosé dialogue which was probably recorded in the past... month? Two, tops.

I think the main thing to take away from the Super voices in XV2 is that they are all basically a test run and rehearsal, and may not be representative of how those characters are going to sound when the dub gets to them. Even if it's the same voice actors, the way they voice the characters could end up considerably different, especially since the anime production schedule will no doubt give the voice director more time to work with them on it.

Finally played the PQs with those two and actually heard what they sound like. Zamasu sounded alright, actually, just... well, like the VA hasn't quite warmed up to the part yet. He definitely has that sort of snide arrogance down pretty well. I suspect SSJR Black's voice is a lot closer to how Black is actually going to sound in the Super dub in contrast to the much older XV2 base form Black recording, and he also sounds a lot closer to what I'd expect a smug bastard like that to sound like. I'm actually a lot more optimistic about those two sounding pretty good in the dub than I was after hearing Batman throat cancer earlier.
