At my uncle's farm, I turned my Spider IV's volume to max, tuned to C standard, and played so loud I couldn't hear myself think. Did this for two hours straight...

C standard actually worked really well. I've done it in drop G before, and that did too.

With drone, I've noticed that it's more about the bass, drive and reverb than the tuning.

Absolutely no complaints. This is some of the best black metal I've ever heard. Doesn't overuse melodic or try to overdo black metal production

To be honest I'm probably not going to get into black metal (as in making the music). I'll just go out one day, return with a Mesa Dual Rectifier and an EQ board, and then make symphonic metal (maybe have a few lighter side projects, I plugged my old Epiphone Les Paul in today, got a killer tone, just not metal. But I could totally see myself just jamming it up with that thing). Meh.

If you liked that song, just go ahead and get the whole album. It's a timeless classic.

Artillery are going to be in town next week. I can't decide whether I should go or not. I'm not a huge fan of their newer material, and even if they do play some of the old music, I'm not sure that the current vocalist will be able to do it justice.
