By casual fan I mean "ooh Number of the Beast is so cool I know 3 songs off it and one off Piece of Mind" and haven't even heard the post-reunion era material.

Kar-Esseria wrote:Oh, and what were those Emperor albums you suggested again? Or did you just suggest the band and not any albums?

All four albums.

That's not a casual fan, that's a poser.

I've been said to look like many things.

But this is a first.

I dunno. Especially about the last two. Is it because of my curls?

Mostly, yeah.

Curls aren't very popular among white dudes.

Second link is better than the first, I don't know, if the vocals were different I'd like it a lot more, not necessarily because of the screaming, but because of the highs in his scream. I prefer deeper sounds or higher sounds.

Well I don't really give a fuck, mainly because this is what naturally grows on my head. I do literally nothing to make it look like it does, besides shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner (though the second I used mousse so it stayed together without frizzing up, which was insanely helpful because I headbanged a whole lot that night).

I knew a girl, and she got excited about my hair and I let her straighten it, and that was weird, it was crazy soft. Like silk. My hair is usually soft but in a bumpy kind of way, it's got texture. But when it's straight you can just run your hand right through it like nothing. And the wind blows it all back, which I'll admit is nice, because my hair normally gets pretty stubborn and some of it flows with the wind but other parts of it dig in and stay stuck, and then it looks all messy.

Lars Ulrich: Hello, Dave. Look at your band. Now back to mine. Now back at your band. Now back to mine. Sadly, your band isn't mine, but if they stopped playing pure thrash metal and switched to a tough guy version of Motley Crue, they could sell like they're Metallica! Look down, back up, where are you? You're on the high road, taking it higher like a super collider. That album was great. What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's a hard drive with all the private information of the users we banned from Napster. Look again, the hard drive is now Babymetal. Anything is possible when your band reeks of pop. I have this thing against girls with short hair. My hair's going to settle at being at my shoulders, occasionally a little longer but shoulder-length is where it'll stay for the most part. My previous girlfriend's hair was almost to her waist. So if that's any indicator, my relationships are going to have a lot of hair involved.

I have a similar thing.

Most girls just don't look good with short hair in my opinion. There are very few exceptions, but I like my women with longer hair.

Whereas I myself have generally short hair mostly because it doesn't get very long to begin with. I think dudes with long hair look weird, IMO.

We've been keeping it at just below the shoulders.

Some people ask "tits or ass", I answer with "hair". But any length is great if you look good in it.

Whoa whoa whoa...so you think guys with long hair look weird and when you do the horns, using the thumb feels better? Remind us again why you're not fitting in?

Believe me I'm only scratching the surface. There's a lot of care and thought that goes into my hair. Lots of dedication. But everywhere I go I get compliments on my hair. Typically from metalheads and girls, but sometimes from regular guys too.

That's part of the reason I refuse to cut it. Too much dedication was put into it. It'd be more than just my hair that I'd be cutting off.

That's kind of what I meant. We didn't sit down and say "okay, promise to not cut your hair unless I cut it?" or something like that. And give or take a little bit, it's not like we measure regularly.

My hair's going to settle at being at my shoulders, occasionally a little longer but shoulder-length is where it'll stay for the most part. My previous girlfriend's hair was almost to her waist. So if that's any indicator, my relationships are going to have a lot of hair involved.

We've been keeping it at just below the shoulders.

I have a similar thing.

Most girls just don't look good with short hair in my opinion. There are very few exceptions, but I like my women with longer hair.

Whereas I myself have generally short hair mostly because it doesn't get very long to begin with. I think dudes with long hair look weird, IMO.

Some people ask "tits or ass", I answer with "hair". But any length is great if you look good in it.

Whoa whoa whoa...so you think guys with long hair look weird and when you do the horns, using the thumb feels better? Remind us again why you're not fitting in?

I'm more of a tits man. No shame. :p

I have actually changed my position on the horns thing. To extend the thumb is an insult to Dio. I concede this point to the metalheads.

And I was never trying to fit in. I like my individualism, I don't conform to other peoples' standards or desires. Like those girls that date you and try to change you. That's a deal breaker for me, I don't care how hot you are or how great the sex is, I'm not changing anything for anyone. I'm fine with the way I am.

You get what you see, take it or leave it.

See, now, I just don't care about my hair all that much. I just keep it clean and get it cut when it starts dangling in my eyes. Other than that, I don't care how it looks so long as it isn't sticking up. I also don't like it covering my ears for some reason. Just irritates me.

I certainly don't mind it, but it seems really predictable... Converge are exciting, they stand out even within their genre; so far Disemboweled are only a decent take on something I've heard so many times before. :meh:

But even if they don't particularly stand out, I still like them. I'm taking the Cad approach :p

Even if they aren't anything new, they still do it well and I'm a fan because of that.

Oh, I get it, it's just that BDM is a genre I know pretty well, so I know enough BDM bands I get excited for that more generic ones don't do much for me. Had I of discovered them when I was just getting into BDM 13 years ago I'd probably shit my pants over them.

Edit: Skinless are a band that's just as generic that I like a lot more because I found them sooner when the genre inspired more enthusiasm from me.

Kia, I have to say, that's a really weird thing to make a mutual promise to never have longer hair than your partner.

And I mean, really weird. I'm not judging, it's just very unusual and I cannot help but ask: Why?

Sorry, we're a weird couple. In a good way.

Jesus had long hair...you love Jesus...therefore, you're a hypocrite.

Jesus is the exception. ;)

It's not weird.

Except with me it'd be more of mutually understood thing. Her hair can't get shorter than mine and I can't get to her length.

Weird to me, but whatever.

That's kind of what I meant. We didn't sit down and say "okay, promise to not cut your hair unless I cut it?" or something like that. And give or take a little bit, it's not like we measure regularly.

Yeah, that's just be creepy.

Brilliant.

Didn't even know that meme existed.

Haha that's every non-metalhead girlfriend of a metalhead.

i.e. the relationships I tried to have but never worked out
Lars Ulrich: Hello, Dave. I'm wearing a thong.

Varg Vikernes can fuck off.
