Unnecessary and rather irritating interlude speeches were one big factor. And the songs weren't that amazing either.

Surprised to see such a low score for Imaginations, often considered their best. Also surprised you gave such a high score to Battalions, often considered their least impressive.

Meh, that's just rating system semantics. 9.3 is an extremely high score by my scale. Very few albums get that high.

Diabolical Teachings Nazghor 10/10 ALBUM OF THE YEAR
Absolutely no complaints. This is some of the best black metal I've ever heard. Doesn't overuse melodic or try to overdo black metal production

I thought it was great. Kvlty black metal that isn't just Darkthrone-worship.

I felt sorry for Enki after listening to this.
Darkthrone got repetitive after Blaze but it was still great BM but unfortunately as much as I covet it there's still an irrefutable problem with it.

I was never a huge fan of them, though I could definitely appreciate them in some regard, but it seems like ever since Khan left, Kamelot seems to sound kinda...bland now. I'm not gonna say bad but I just don't really enjoy it like I could in some ways with their older stuff. So far the two singles or whatever from the last 2 albums with the new singer just seem kinda...the same as each other in a lot of ways?

So I plugged in my amp today. Got a solid tone with my modeler being set to Mesa Rectifier. So then I raised up the highs and lowered the lows. Still too much clarity. So then I threw my blanket over it and played some stuff. Bam. Black Metal right here you guys. I might need to turn my treble up a little higher next time though, still didn't cut through the blanket enough to actually come out alright on the crappiest microphone I have (my phone's).
