Pleasure to Kill LP is original pressing from 1986. Win! Another "jackpot" was Hell on Earth compilation.
There was also a surprise: I had not ordered Surut Pois Ja Kukka Rintaan by Viikate yet I got it... it's not that great of an album but hey, free music is free so I ain't complaining

You must have amassed enough bonus points in order to receive that title.

I'd usually use bass around 50-75%, mids near 100% and treble between 80 and 100%. Pre-gain should be between 6-8, maybe more if the amp doesn't have very saturated distortion. Post-gain is volume typically, so set it to taste.Hjalmarr wrote:scoop mids and turn everything else up basically
Scooped mids sound like shit unless your amp really emphasizes them. Scooped mids also lead to your guitar vanishing behind everyone else if you're playing with other people because mid-range is what cuts through.Cadonica wrote:Not to forget that back then cars actually had real engines. Real engines have 4 valves per cylinder and dual overhead cams.

But yes, I love them too. If you're listening to All Is One, most of the songs are about yearning for peace in their country (Israel) and putting aside religious differences. The hope and sorrow of "Let The Truce Be Known" is particularly poignant. And then there's songs like "Ya Benaye" which are just plain fun

But the video version is much better. I can't click it right now but if it's the original with the metal playing in the background as the guy's doing home improvement stuff then we're on the same page. A for effort though, at least.
Isn't construction one of the most popular lines of work among metalheads?

I'm on the fence as far as they're concerned.
In other news, I take back a bit of what I've said about death metal. It's not as atrocious as I claimed, and the average death metal band isn't completely inept when it comes to playing instruments (though they all tend to sound pretty much the same), and while I dislike death growls, I find them much more tolerable than black metal shrieking.
Seriously, that shrieking is fucking annoying as hell. How do you people listen to that and not go deaf?
But regardless, I greatly exaggerated death metal. It's not awful, but it's just not my cup of tea. I still like black metal more, but only when they aren't shrieking like a little demon girl.
Death growls still sound like cookie monsters hungry stomach if it was a dog though.

I really have to try hard to not bash you for not liking Embrace of the Endless Ocean. I love that song.
The Pursuit of Vikings is a commonly liked song, but a good song nonetheless. You should seriously consider listening to a full album though, the first time I listened to Amon Amarth I plunged straight into Twilight Of The Thunder God without any previous experience in death metal. And it's pretty easy to see where that got me I wouldn't have found over half of the music I currently listen to if it wasn't for coming into contact with that album.

The Aura = best Techdeath album IMO. (I have said this once before, but it is necessary to say it again)
To be honest the first time I heard BC I thought that their music was pretty boring and I wasn't a big fan on some of the vocals, but after giving them a second try my opinion completely changed. After hearing their albums in full I was completely blown away by the quality of musicianship and their ability to actually write a good song, which is often the weakness for many Techdeath bands.
