How it feels to listen to this album:

It feels like I'm Braveheart (William Wallace), and as I put on my war paint I'm leading a massive army of strong shirtless warriors through forests and plains, over rivers and mountains, across ravines and chasms, and then we meet the tyrannical King and his Knights. I lift a massive two-handed sword, the gems in its handle glistening in the sun. I order the charge, and my warriors charge into the King's men. As my men cut down the knights, I'm on a horse leaping high over their heads, bringing my sword down on all those around me as the horse lands. The horse dies but I stand up and spin, cutting through every knight around me. Soon the enemy King approaches, and I rip off my chest armor before giving a mighty battle cry heard from Valhalla itself. I charge, but the King pulls out a wicked battleaxe, and our weapons clash, a massive burst of energy coming from the steel. Suddenly, I yell and overpower the King, and cut him in the torso. He seethes and we fight, clashing sword and axe, with every parry manifesting into a fierce blue bolt of lightening.

Finally, I cut into the King, and through his body. He falls, blood coming from his mouth. I raise my bloodied sword with both hands on the handle and all my warriors cheer at the heavens. The reign of tyranny has ended, though at a cost. I've been hit heavily, and I'm beginning to bleed out. Suddenly, a ray of golden light comes down on me and my sword. The gems in the sword's handle begin to glow brightly, and the sword begins to carry me up to the sky. Angels come down with harps, ridding me of any aches. God himself meets me, and blesses my sword with the power to slay any foe, and grants me immortality so long as I continue to uphold righteousness and honor. My horse is resurrected, now with wings and immortality for all eternity. I accept and come back down to my warriors, carried by only the most beautiful of angels. With honor and glory we have saved the land from evil and now a new age of peace and prosperity can begin, led by me as I soar through the skies on my horse, sword in hand.

Whole bands didn't generally trendhop, but individual musicians did. Similar to how a lot of C-tier guitar players played in hair "metal" bands in the early 80s, switched to thrashier stuff in new bands by the late 80s and then switched to grunge/alternative sounding bands in the early 90s - not because they were passionate about playing music of a certain style, but because they were passionate about being rock stars.
