We get it, you don't like growling. A girl who wishes to express herself musically in the genre of death metal needs to be able to do reasonable death metal vocals though. Your first statement and your second statement can't both be how you feel because if you genuinely believe there should be more female singers in metal you should appreciate a female artist doing her own vocals even if you're not a fan of how she chooses to do them - she chooses to do them in a style she feels is appropriate for the music she does and that's all that matters.
Unintelligible lyrics force the listener to read them to understand them and opens them up for deeper analysis. Do you limit your musical tastes to only music sung in languages you understand? If not, why does it matter if you can't decipher, or need to pay attention to decipher an artist's vocals. Anyways, it's not like the typical death metal singer is any more difficult to understand than pop singers who do vocal masturbation like Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilara.
Vocals in other languages are still intelligible to someone, and can easily be understood by anyone if they learn or already know the language.
Growling is just gibberish. There's no possible way they could be producing words with that crap, they're just making noises and making up some bullshit lyrics to go with them. Sometimes they actually are saying something, because there are some death growls that can be heard as words, like Amon Amarth, but in most cases it's just gibberish. Even black metal shrieking, as annoying as it is, can be understood as words.
I think singers in general are being wasted if all they do is growl or shriek.
