Older or Newer Napalm Death? A crusty sounding War Ensemble would be pretty cool, switching between barked vocals and pig squeals.

You could also replace the guitar solo with a bass solo. That would kinda cool.

and uhhhh I don't do pig squeals I do the Tom Araya thing but deeper and I can do some death growls and harsh vocals but I'd like to avoid ripping my vocal chords again

EDIT: Also I'm hoping I can make the bass a little more Lemmy. Needs a little more standout sound

Ouch.

Pig Squeals, if used sparingly, can be pretty awesome.

You should do a "You Suffer" Cover.

No.

This is an extreme example. Don't do that, but, if you sparingly use those vocals during very, very fast parts of a song, its kinda cool.

I would just like to remind everyone that rock/metal does not have a monopoly on dark music.

This neofolk/neoclassical song is so depressing it makes some suicidal black metal seem like Happy Tea Time.

Damn, that was some depressing stuff. Though I'm not too hot about the vocals. At some points I feel like he could at least speed them up just a bit.

Industrial Metal is a much better aesthetic than it is music.
Depending on the interpretation it's up there with steam punk
though
I think steam punk is overrated

I've never heard steam punk music (I honestly don't know if it even exists) but I like the concept and designs that have come out of it.

Great album. Really heavy. The highlights for me are "Rotting Misery", "Our Savior" and "Frozen Illusion".

Some of their later goth metal stuff is enjoyable too

Their most recent albums have gradually become heavier again, in some ways current Paradise Lost actually sounds like an evolved and perfected reboot of "Shades of God" (Paradise Lost's third album). Hell, Paradise Lost members are even dabbling in death metal again these days! Several band members are active in Vallenfyre, while Nick Holmes is also the vocalist of Stockholm death metal beast Bloodbath since 2014.

At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

The only bands they got right were Sunn O))), Napalm Death and Carcass.

If we're going to pick the heaviest albums (which are not necessarily the best), its pretty much going to be grindcore and death metal bands exclusively. Maybe a few doom metal bands.

Nirvana, The Beatles, Bring Me The Horizon, really?

Like, the first two okay, far from the heaviest albums, but at least respectable. But Bring Me The Horizon being on here at all and not Bolt Thrower or Amon Amarth pisses me off. Opeth also deserves a spot. Rammstein, alright, yeah, heavy, but IMO should not be ranked as high as they were. There's just so much heavier stuff.

Heaviness really has no definition. If it were my list, it would probably have Stained Class or Sin After Sin at the top. Don't question my reasoning.

Yeah, BMTH is pretty weak. Opeth, Rammstein and Amon Amarth are not that heavy, relative to some other stuff. They are good, but heavy is not necessary good.

Seriously, if we were to pick the heaviest, and I mean THE HEAVIEST, albums of all time, it would be a lot of more obscure bands. Things that make even Napalm Death look weak.

I'd nominate Nails - Abandon All Life. Agoraphobic Nosebleed's Altered States of America would also be something on there. It's a hundred songs in under thirty minutes.

Okay, Mr. Snark, heaviness in terms of Heavy Metal has no universal definition, as everyone categorizes it differently.

Really, self-harm jokes? I don't want to veer off topic, but that's really not any better than the stuff you've criticized Halfordia for.

They're Kerrang, they're too mainstream to make a list of 50 bands no one has heard of. :p

I don't listen to much really heavy stuff, the heaviest stuff I listen to at this point is like Gojira, Enslaved, Ne Obliviscaris, relatively well-known stuff like that. I should start listening to some heavy music again.

I have been thoroughly convinced, after listening to it many times, that Dance of December Souls is my favorite doom metal album ever. Old Katatonia is awesome. I don't like their newer stuff as much.
