My list of to-buy albums is shorter than my list of owned albums, somehow, but my list of to-listen albums is higher than both combined. And most of it's from people on this thread :lol2:

Surely there must be some more obscure artists I have yet to hear? You guys are always talking about obscure black and death metal bands I've never heard of, but what about other genres? Doom? Symphonic? Power? Folk? Even Thrash?

Have you listened to Arkona yet (Pagan folk)?

Or have you listened to one of Epica's best albums (Symphonic)?

I don't listen to much of the genres you listed, but have you heard of Pallbearer? Really good doom metal from Little Rock. Moonsorrow is a great folk metal band from Finland.

edit: since the topic of who's blocked you came up in the last page, I feel it's relevant for me to mention that I never blocked you. Love me Kar. :p

I absolutely love it whenever a band's trying to seem like super srs bsns and then you look at the drummer and he's just going to town with a big doofy smile on his face. Absolutely love it.

Moonsorrow is a great folk metal band from Finland.

^ Very true, indeed.

To be honest I originally didn't like Moonsorrow, but after giving them another try recently I found out how good they actually are. I have only listened to a few of their albums so far (Suden uni, Voimasta ja kunniasta and Kivenkantaja), but over the next few days I plan to finish the rest off. IMO I think Kar would probably enjoy the music a lot, but I am very doubtful about him liking the vocals... they are a bit crazy at times, after all.

I don't know if I should post here, tell me and I will be gone.

I don't really like metal, but I like atmospheric black metal (not the Satanic stuff)/symphonic and most original heavy (Saxon, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest etc). I just would like some more reccomendations because most metal I've heard is okay and am wondering if martial-industrial-metal is a thing or if there are any bands influenced by it?

Martial-industrial...I don't even know what that's supposed to describe.
Lars Ulrich: Hello, Dave. Look at your band. Now back to mine. Now back at your band. Now back to mine. Sadly, your band isn't mine, but if they stopped playing pure thrash metal and switched to a tough guy version of Motley Crue, they could sell like they're Metallica! Look down, back up, where are you? You're on the high road, taking it higher like a super collider. That album was great. What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's a hard drive with all the private information of the users we banned from Napster. Look again, the hard drive is now Babymetal. Anything is possible when your band reeks of pop. That's not a genre I've heard of, but the band NKVD might meet that description. Listen to their Vlast EP, they're a French industrial black metal band whose lyrics (except for their new album) are all based on twentieth century dictators.
