So Kar is in a financially difficult situation, he's only got one parent who has her hands full already, and he spends his days pretty much entirely on his computer? Normally I would say that's pretty brutal, but it's actually really sad. I'm done with blabbing about it here now, but Kar, I hope you come to your senses soon.
Lars Ulrich: Hello, Dave. Look at your band. Now back to mine. Now back at your band. Now back to mine. Sadly, your band isn't mine, but if they stopped playing pure thrash metal and switched to a tough guy version of Motley Crue, they could sell like they're Metallica! Look down, back up, where are you? You're on the high road, taking it higher like a super collider. That album was great. What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's a hard drive with all the private information of the users we banned from Napster. Look again, the hard drive is now Babymetal. Anything is possible when your band reeks of pop. I'm wearing a thong.

Varg Vikernes can fuck off.

I'd try every amp you can afford, or at least as many of the big name ones as you can find. You might end up deciding a Mesa Mk. x or a Soldano or a Marshall JCM800 KFK or a 5150 or a Bad Cat or a Crate GX/Ampeg VH is the one you prefer over everything available. Then again, my perspective is largely informed by owning a modeller, I hardly ever use the models I bought it for, but managed to find several others I like way more.

ENGL: $750
H&K: $600

I don't have the kind of money to go out and buy a fantastic amp like the ones you're talking about. If I did I'd already have an ENGL Powerball or a Soldano SLO sitting in my room :p

Fair enough, I didn't realize those brands had amps in the reasonable price range. I'd still look for used examples of a few things if possible, just to give yourself as broad of idea of what's available. That Ampeg I mention is a solid state, but was used by dozens of major DM (and similar) bands including Suffocation, Pig Destroyer and Dying Fetus.

That Ampeg is also hard to find, it seems.

Anyway, price is probably going to be the main thing about which amp I buy. The ENGL is great but the cleans are debatable (might just be people on youtube using shitty settings), but the Tubemeister has great cleans and good distortion (just sounds weak), unless I were to stick a pedal in front of it. Even then, a good overdrive/distortion pedal is about $100-150, and buying the H&K would still be cheaper. The only thing really keeping me on the ENGL is the fact that it has balls.

Go be funny somewhere else, commas are in correct spots. If you want to be a true grammar nazi, commas should be periods.

I've been pretty pleased with it - especially for the $75 that I paid. I've got pedals that cost more. It's pretty good as an amp and it works really well as a power amp with my POD or my Crate GX practice amp (converted into a pre-amp by bypassing the entire power amp section).

Honestly, I'm overwhelmed by the amount of good tones I have at my fingertips - it's part of what caused me to burn out on guitar - I'd spend more time setting things up to sound right than I would actually playing. I really only need two good tones (one for the left guitar track, the other for the right guitar track) and having 15 or so is almost a distraction. The cool thing with the POD is you can use amp models with speakers that aren't close to what would normally be used, so you can make a model with a Mesa Recto + a 1x12, or the high gain Class A amp with a 4x12 or whatever. Some of the not-so-metal amp models become usable for metal when combined with a more suitable cab.
