Huh... that is weird. Have you checked the steam community section or the Paradox forums? Maybe someone else is having the same issue and there could be a solution.

Sorry i cant help but ive never seen that myself so i have no idea.

Using a custom Andalusian nation, I colonized Brazil and Mexico. Unfortunately, my colonial nations (being Oligarchic Republics like me), often have "Governor <Regency Council>" elected. I'm not sure why this is, because the file for my nation shouldn't have any regency councils....should it?

Has anyone else had this issue?

I just remembered that you need the Semper Fi expansion for names to appear on the map.

Its.. fucking random i know but apparently that is why. I did not play it until For the Motherland came out so i never experienced it.

Lithuania has been absorbed; I retain my personal union with Austria and march with Moldavia, and - after they were created by the peace terms of a Venetian defensive war against the Turk bastards to which I contributed greatly - I've vassalized Serbia as well, more as a defensive measure than anything else. My rivals are the Ottomans, Muscovy, and England. My allies are Venice, Bavaria, and a recently independent Sweden. Finland has also just won its independence from Muscovy and I might pursue relations with them, though I think Sweden sufficient in that area.

It is 1570, and the old order is dead. Poland has mastered the east and turned now to the West.

First off, Denmark is barely an entity anymore after Sweden ate about half of it in a war with Denmark; I won most of our warscare by invading Muscovy in short bursts, stopping only for sieges then fleeing back during the winters to recover. It was a massive war and took a lot out of me, but though I gained only territory, I take it as a personal victory; Sweden has eclipsed Denmark as ruler of the north and is a tightly-knit ally of mine. Meanwhile, Muscovy turns defensive to avoid making eye contact with a nation that so thoroughly made it its bitch - they've dropped me as a rival in exchange for Sweden itself, which has claim to vast tracts of Muscovite land, and the Muscovite army consists of 1 lone troop standing guard across the border from my army of 17. Another stipulation of our peace treaty broke the Russo-Danish alliance, which neither side has gone to lengths to reconstruct since; Denmark is now useless to Muscovy, being a collection of shattered and scattered lands awaiting consumption by either Holstein or Sweden.

Holstein, an ally of Sweden's, is also an ally of the new emergent power in Germany - Brandenburg, whose heir is the first Hohenzollern (who is somehow not named Frederick). Brandenburg has expanded greatly, taking lands from Saxony and Hesse, and conquering half of Bohemia; the other half is occupied by Saxony, so I imagine it won't last much longer as a nation. Saxony and Brandenburg are mainly concerned with each other, but Brandenburg is allied with Muscovy, which makes me think they want to fight me; this would be a mistake. My primary ally in this region is Bavaria, which has remained both stable and neutral as of late.

But the real story here is the West - propelled by colonial winds, England, Spain (which just formed a few minutes ago), and Portugal's power have risen exponentially. And what's the first thing one does in that scenario? Fuck with France! A massive war between France and Spain over who-gives-a-shit has left France weak and ailing, crippled by Regency and noble rebels; the heir to the French throne is a much-loathed young boy of the Rurikovich dynasty, through some sorcery. The weak France then quickly lost Normandy to England once more, and Trier (which is about the size you'd expect them to be) has launched a campaign to force them into Protestantism. Finally, France was forced to release Foix as a sovereign nation - Spain likely aimed to eat them, but before they could establish relations, I came in and vassalized it. Though it's only one province big, Foix can serve as a puppet to use against Spain and France, since both of them see me as a rival. Here, enjoy this Europe.

My own rivals are the Ottomans, Muscovy (which may change), and France; Spain controls Italy and is thus more likely to be an immediate foe, but France is weak. I hope to integrate either Foix or Austria soon (likely Foix) and take advantage of France's weakness to expand into the West; in the meantime, I'm investing my massive reserves in modernizing the Polish infrastructure while plotting against Brandenburg.

The Turks remain silent, worryingly so.

Damn the Muscovites!

I launched a massive campaign against Muscovy, who by now were allied to Denmark and Brandenburg both, in an attempt to permanently cripple them and prevent Russia from forming. Largely, the campaign was successful; my own troops did very little in the beginning, having been driven from the West by some clever attacks by Brandenburg and taking their time on the Eastern front to prevent massive attrition. Instead, my good friends in Austria and Venice did most of the heavy lifting; Denmark's trade was completely shut down and, within months, the entirety of Brandenburg was occupied. Brandeburg fell first, breaking its alliance with Muscovy and ceding to me Hinterpommen. Soon after, Denmark fell as well, breaking its alliances with Muscovy and Norway. Both are now heavily weakened and without allies, so I can only assume it's a matter of time before Germany does its thing and consumes them. At this rate, Hesse will control all of northern Germany soon enough, which makes them a threat for another day.

The war in Muscovy, however, dragged on for years, with many, many attempts by small, shitty Muscovite armies to retake Moscow delaying the effort - along with the horrid winter conditions convincing me to prevent any troop movement in those months. Eventually, however, Muscovy gave in, and great gains were made (or so I thought); Reval, Narva, and Pskov were granted to me and the nation of Tver was released. At last! The death of the Russian menace!

And then they formed Russia anyways.

At the very least, this is the most pathetic Russia I've ever seen; so pathetic I was forced to drop them as a rival. Hopefully, Finland and Perm can beat them out of existence; Finland is currently without any allies, so I might drop Bavaria in exchange for them. In the meantime, I've warned Russia to protect Tver, which I hope will also expand - with assistance. I might abandon Moldavia for them, though given Moldavia's history of usefulness, I doubt it. REally, Tver was only meant to inconvenience the Russians without overextending me; I'll probably just conquer it myself once I've recovered.

But the recovery will take a long time. My armies are a fifth of the size they once were and my manpower is completely depleted; I'm going to spend these next few years coring my provinces and building up my trade power. Pax Polska, you could say.

EDIT: Ah, yes. See that little dark green province to the left of Brandenburg? Kind of looks like Pommerania? Well, it isn't; it's Venice.

Got to look out for my friends, after all. I had expected them to sell it, but instead they immediately attacked Switzerland; there's a little emperor in their hearts after all.

Why the hell does the Subjugation Saxony CB still exist if the Saxony kingdom is already formed?

Same for another play-through where I had the Kingdoms of Rus and Ruthenia under my control and this asshole Chud guy keeps warring me year after year for the subjugation of Rus. Absolutely no sense.

Um, no. No, it's very much not, since China spent most of WWII trying not to be consumed by Japan.

yeah well China got consumed by Japan in late '38 and joined the Axis as a Japanese puppet

Why the hell does the Subjugation Saxony CB still exist if the Saxony kingdom is already formed?

Same for another play-through where I had the Kingdoms of Rus and Ruthenia under my control and this asshole Chud guy keeps warring me year after year for the subjugation of Rus. Absolutely no sense.

Forming the Kingdom doesn't deactivate the CBs for Pagans. On Chud; if he keeps warring you, why does he still live? Throw him in the Volga.

I deleted the Great Purge event; haven't tested it out yet; however, the way things have gone thus far for the USSR (especially considering the 100+ factories I have in production and IC boosts from tech), the USSR may finish the 1940's as the strongest nation on Earth. Currently have about 260 IC

Also started a Kaiserreich game as the Spanish Anarchists. United Spain after a brief ceasefire with the Monarchists & Carlists; invaded Portugal to install anarchists there. Entente, Internationale, and Mitteleuropa at war; Internationale appears to be winning. Currently rebuilding Spanish Navy and modernizing Army before doing anything major.
