Does the Cold War tech-tree expansion for Darkest Hour also have the playing dates expanded (i.e. can play to 1990)?

That would be extremely cool. I'm going to reconsider installing Darkest Hour.
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

I know you can extend the dates through editing folders, but I don't know if I'd have to do it for the Cold War tech tree mod.

Link: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/sho ... -Expansion

Also, while I'm talking about Darkest Hour, you guys should check out the Turning Point 1989 mod for DH, it's in very early alpha (so a lot of bugs, including one I got), but once the bugs are patched, it will be really cool: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/sho ... ning-Point

Also, one of the modders for the latter is on NS.

EDIT: I may have given an old link for the latter, so googling may be necessary.

The first world war is about to kick off. Germany faces the might of a vengeful France, America, and great Britain, along with the American allies and great Britains puppets. Gods have mercy on our souls, many will perish in the flames of war.

Update 1: Three naval engagements have been won by the superior American navy. Russia accepted a summit and joined our war against Germany, hopefully relieving pressure on the western front. Thousands have already died. This is going to be a long war...

Update 2: Japan has joined in, causing this to officially be "The Great War"
All puppets, vassals and dominions have been dragged in. Godspeed magnificent bastards...

So I'm kind of in a stalemate in the Franche-Comte region. Control is going back and forth, though usually we control one territory. I thought my tanks would give me an advantage, but so far we're only winning at sea. Our combined army score is over triple that of theirs, but somehow they're holding on. Germany is fighting on THREE fronts and somehow winning. Any strategic advice? I've got another hundred thousand men en route to Europe, but cannot spare any men on the fronts.

Edit: Running pop demand with all dlc. Also trench bonus suuucks.

Even with the crown officially having ceased tariffs on Nowydh Breizh goods more than a decade ago, the people are convinced that the crown is focused much more on their internal problems than on their colonies, and with the governor, de Machecoule, starting his own colonial initiative to delve deeper into the Amazonian territory, some radicals believe they'd be best as their own nation.

So, I'm loving this new colonial system, vassals are no longer obedient little slaves. Nowydh Breizh (Briton Brazil) has grown to a size that doubles Brittany's base tax and land force limit, and that's caused liberty desire to skyrocket to 127.5%. If it wasn't for my NIs and Jean IX's Diplomatic Skill of 5 I'd have lost the colony decades ago. I think that when the colony finally rebels against me (The rebellion has ceased to be "if" and has become "when") I'll play as them during their war of independence and onward. However, our other fledgling colonies of Loelgwik (Present day-Uruguay and parts of Argentina) and Labrador have been pretty obedient.

Is there no way of maintaining colonial nations for several centuries? After sinking several thousand ducats into them, I'd like to get something back from them....

Eh, they've been at 100% Liberty Desire for about two decades now. They haven't declared war yet.

So, my first Darkest Hour game in about half a year, I started as the Villistas, led by the infamous Pancho Villa. From 1914, the Villistas and the Constitutionalistas warred against Mexico (See: Mexican Revolution of 1910.), and by 1917 Villa himself marched into the city of Merida, ending the Mexican dictatorship once and for all. However, whenever I try to diplomatically annex Mexico, I hand all of its provinces back to the Constitutionalistas. Any idea how I can prevent this? I sort of want to unify Mexico under an Authoritarian, hard-left government.

Also, France and friends won World War I, with some interesting results, including Germany getting to keep Alsace Lorraine.

So continues my French Ironman game.

A war to retake Anjou from Brittany ends in their bending the knee to the French king, despite Austrian assistance. Luxembourg soon follows suit and both are incorporated into the French kingdom.

Aragon, a French ally, continues to press it's claims in Italy. After the death of the king of Naples, Aragon once again finds itself in control of southern Italy after France declines to oppose their claims. Reenergized, Aragon thus begins a war to conquer Ferrara and the chain of alliances soon sees the war spiral out of control and half a million men would lie dead before the wars end.

A decade later, the Papal States would declare a war of honour in an attempt to halt Aragon's advances into Italy. After initial successes by Aragon and it's allies, the Austrian led alliance would secure a stunning set of victories in Auvergne and Provence, routing French forces from the south of France.

I also got my first colony, damn this auto explore system.

Unfamiliar with that particular bug. I know a hotfix went out, but it didn't mention that particular bug.
The creator's pretty fun. National Ideas give you so many choices to play around with, for example, and buffing the points limit up to 800 lets you go hilariously wild (though it does make the game too easy for my taste beyond the lulz).
A few things I don't like, ruler/heir names after the first are randomly generated based on culture, so you can have like, Jonathan of the Jonathian States for generation one and then get something like Vladimir next because you took Russian culture. There's also rather few choices in terms of emblems when it comes to flag design and you can't change their colors. A friend also complained about how it prevents nations from effectively holding large island chains in the Pacific due to distance from homeland limitations.

But overall I'd say it's great just for the amount of potential you can have with even just one custom nation, not to mention 20 of them.

Then it most likely was purged earlier.
IIRC the names you use for the ruler and heir are, for this savegame, added to the culture-file of the culture you used.

Regarding the emblems and Islands, haven't gotten the DLC so I can't really judge that.
