Would any of you write a novel?

Postby Xianlong » Tue Feb 03, 2015 3:52 pm

So here's what I was thinking recently. A lot of this site's RPing is of top quality. Not all of it, but a good deal of it. And I also noticed that the really good RPers write lots and lots and lots and clearly put a massive amount of effort into it. So would any of you write a novel? Maybe you already have. I was just curious.

I'm in the process of writing one, but it's not finished yet and, to be honest, I've kind of hit a wall so I don't know if it'll ever be finished. But to answer your question, yes... I would if I could. Whether or not I actually can remains to be seen.

I'd love to, but doing something like that demands a lot of time, effort and commitment on the part of the writer. At some point in the future I'd like to give it a try, though.

I'm interested in writing a novel, but I don't think I'll ever have enough time and commitment to write one, at least in the foreseeable future. I'd like to post a story to FictionPress someday, but clearly I'm unable to do that right now.

I've been slowly working on developing a fantasy world and writing either a novel or a collection of interwoven short stories set there.

I tried to do NaNo a few years back but that month ended up being one of the worst in my life and I barely even got started. Been thinking of trying to get back into writing but I just don't seem to be able to be quite as creative anymore.

I have tried to do so but my attempts have ended in failure. I've burnt a few relatively-long manuscripts because I considered them to be worthless but most are safe under my bed.

The world's two types of people:
1) People whom say they're going to write a novel.
----- 1a) People whom say they're working on writing a novel.
2) People whom write novels.

I think it'd be cool to make a graphic novel(Or make an author friend in Japan and help work on a manga), but it's the constant need to describe things that would put me off(Considering the most annoying thing to me while reading is description). So, maybe.

I've done some manga novels in the past (which I won't post here because they're… violent), and I'm also writing a fan fiction. None of them are published. :P

If I did, the chance of it getting published let alone actually being bought and read by people is extremely low. Regardless of whether it's decent or not.

I'm an aspiring novelist actually. I have concepts, but haven't actually written any of them out yet. Most of my planned stuff is either dystopian or historical fiction.

Exactly this.

I'm in training to be a journalist and my 'novel' is constantly being put on hold because 1) I'm busy and 2) I write all day for my job and so when it comes to writing for a novel, I run out of steam.

I've started a novel based loosely off of my own life, but I don't think there is enough substance in it to form a proper story, so I'm kind of struggling.

I'm 3/4 of the way done with a military sci-fi novel. Hoping to wrap it up and start editing in the next couple months, then ship it out to publishers.

Yes, I am actually in the process of writing two.

One's a young adult fantasy(because such things do exist) and the other is more of an adult horror/philosophy.

Unfortunately, I have writer's block on both of them, so they may not be done for a while...

BUT ONE OF THESE DAYS.

Wrote one, or rather a series of linked novellas. But the more I look at it the more I just see how its wrong. Writing another now and started prep on a new idea too.
