I'd rather cut my thumbs off than boot up Far Cry 3 again so I can step into the spray tanned shoes of I Can't Believe it's not Nathan Drake to hunt down Friedrick Vaughn Fauxhawk and the rest of the personality posse.

Honestly for me the best part of the actual story part of Far Cry 3 was the burning weed mission and the characters...besides the protagonist and his boring ass buddies (But pretty sure making them lame was intentional)

Blood Dragon is just ridiculous cheesy 80's fun.

I didn't mind three, Though I am more partial to 4 so far. And yeah, BD was cheesy eighties greatness, almost surpassing the entertainment value of the Escape From NY and LA movies in my eyes. Almost.

None of the Mass Effect games can, in any way, shape, or form, be considered bad games, be it badly made or badly narrated story wise. While I am under the opinion the first is best due to the extensive combat abilities and loot system later removed, not to mention it was the first RPG I played, the second is not bad at all, and is in fact a very good game. The third was as well, and honestly people overreact to the ending of the third. Sure, it is relatively dissapointing but it hardly ruins the game.

Oh right, the third game, with it's pants shitting animation, hit detection that makes BF4 look like Game of the Year, hilarious pedophiles sequences, and completely predictable "throw sit loads of enemy hordes at the player" gameplay. That's not even close to the extent of the problems.

From the bit I've played of Mass Effect, there's still quite a lot I found annoying about Mass Effect 1, too, even if it might be the best in some ways. For one, it had the worst graphics yet still works the worst out of the 3 games in the series. And, well...combat dialogue made me want to strangle myself.

I kinda have a sudden urge NOT to play anything on other PC's like Mass Effect because I might actually have a real PC before too terribly long and can play all of these things on there instead...Though of course I could just transfer saves over.

Never ran into hit detection issues, and I don't recall any pedophilia related moments. The third can be said of almost every combat oriented game ever made, so I don't see how that detracts very much.

Why yes I do.

I'm a huge fan of modern JRPGs, most non-tac FPS games, most sandbox games, and specifically games that require you to think.

EU4 has become my obsession because it fulfilled my love of slow-paced strategy games, my love of history, and my love of staring at maps for extended periods of time.

I didn't like ME2 because it wasn't enough of a TPS for me to enjoy the gunplay and it wasn't enough of an RPG for me to enjoy the leveling. ME3 was way more of a shooter and I played it like one.

Actually, I think I like more of a wide range of video games and video game types than anyone in this thread, but I have no problems with pointing out the flaws I see in things and going into everything with a critical mind, because that is just how I am. And I'm very specific with HOW much a game is worth to me. Do I want Far Cry 4? Yes. Do I think it is worth a $60 person? No, not really. So I put all of that in perspective. Like I wouldn't totally be against even getting freaking Call of Duty (Bleh, not the new ones, screw those) for like $5.

I do the same with music, movies, books...whatever. Love a huge variety, but very picky and critical of everything as well. And like I said, not afraid to express that. Probably why it is so hard for me to rate anything super high ever because I can always find a flaw in things or a weak song or whatever, which messes with my ratings.

agreed, EUIV is great fun, haven't been able to play it lately though.

And ME does suffer from the Dead Space syndrome of each entry devolving further into a straight shooter.

And I just tend to like a bit of everything...So I probably can warm up to certain styles of games you don't like as much easier and whatnot.

But of course, we all have our preferences. Nothing wrong with that. Just for some reason my mind can't help but love a bit of everything. It actually is kind of more annoying than not a lot of the time...Because I want to hear all the creativity in all the genres of music, all the genres of games, all the genres of movies, ect, and you know...That makes my entertainment budget over my life time sky rocket quite a bit. I mean, I have 300+ albums backed up on a WISHLIST from a wide array of genres...

So I'm playing The Witcher 2, doing the Nekker Contract. Got caught in the Malena quest on the way. Went to the cave, thinking the Nekkers were easy.

Was proven wrong. Ver very wrong. I didn't die, but was close to it. Fucker's swarm you like zerg and they hurt like hell. Fuck, a steel blade from a bandit is easier to take than a punch from them. I ran around, regenerating my health while taking them out one by one.

Though, I must say I'm very happy to see that its not easy.

Though, I really miss group style from the last game. Would have helped.

Though, drowners are still piss easy...

I can finish a game of Civ 4 in a day.

I cannot physically finish a 1444-1821 game of EU4 in a week, let alone a day, because of how long it takes for the years to progress.

It most certainly is.

An example of a game that isn't slow paced would be like Command & Conquer. That game doesn't give you time to think.

Spec Ops I love just for deviating from the almost glorification of war and the portrayal of the protagonist as a static hero found in most shooters to actually showing the effects combat has someone and the horrors involved, and the psychological devastation it can have. The one line basically sums it up: "do you feel like a hero yet?".

C&C, a series I once would have pegged as among the best game franchises of all time. And then EA happened. Which reminds me I need to look into Grey Goo more. Because a team led by some of the creators of the original C&C series making a new RTS is my kind of nostalgia.

Oh fuck yeah that is anything but easy, I had the same mentality thinking it was like most RPG games and it would be a simple "kill vermin and turn in quest".

I have yet to find a real time strategy game like that that I actually enjoy.

The only one I found bearable was the RTS sections of Black Ops 2, because once you finished setting up your troops and such you could jump into the bodies of a soldier or vehicle and actually be a part of the fight.

I actually kinda wish there was more of a crossover like that in other games. I'd love for a RTS sort of game in medieval times where you can jump into it as a first person soldier battling in one of the epic battles you started, or whatever.

I want the same in a game like Sim City. Jump into a car or a person (Well, City Life sorta had the first-person street view thing) and go around your built city in first-person. Sim City 4's driving doesn't count.

About the only RTS game I think I've played is Company of Heroes and all I've done in that is play either with my dad, my sister, or my brother on multiplayer. Which was a lot of fun, but I really do need to play more than that :P

And with my brother, we did a sorta "Give each other about 30 minutes to take half the map plus build up our defenses, buildings, and resources, then attack each other" thing, so it wasn't even really playing the game "properly", so to speak. At the 30 minute mark, it was time for us to attack each other.
