Fallout 2 would probably be my favorite game of all time if it was redesigned ala New Vegas (I'll settle for all the bugs just because 2 was fucking awesome).

I really enjoyed the first Fallout. Sure, it took me around a dozen times just to get to The Hub, and it's extremely difficult in general, but it's a good game nonetheless.

The original Fallout was a masterpiece.

I wouldn't call it "far superior to Fallout 3", but Fallout's combat is only boring at the beginning, where you're struggling to hit a rat point blank with a shotgun. By the time you're rocking a .223 Pistol and a suit of Hardened Power Armor, it's awesome.

I wouldn't call it "far superior to Fallout 3", but Fallout's combat is only boring at the beginning, where you're struggling to hit a rat point blank with a shotgun. By the time you're rocking a .223 Pistol and a suit of Hardened Power Armor, it's awesome.

LOL I really got put off RPGs becuase of the first couple I tried (fallout and KOTOR) resulted in me being killed by some basic rat like thing very early on. Fortunately I tried again and got into that game style. Still haven't played the first two Fallout's fully yet. I really should find the disks for them.

Idk, at least in fallout 2, there are a lot of opportunities to get shrekd early on. I remember dying to the garden plants on a side mission in Arroyo.

Cripple the legs from, like, half a fucking mile away, they come at you (with you still shooting at them on the way, hitting most shots and getting plenty of crits), manage to knock out both of your melee-oriented companions, and still nearly manage to get you before you paste the fucker. The last one actually did manage to get a swipe at me, it brought me down to like six HP. They don't even drop anything that's fucking useful.

Are you kidding? They were fantastic as cannon fodder. I have no idea how many times I'd have died if it weren't for them distracting the damn things and whittling down some of their health.

It's always fun watching your enemies fly to the ground, then pumping them full of lead as they're trying to get back up, causing them to immediatly fall back down until they're dead.
