The last movie I saw in theatres was the new Avengers film. It was good, but not as good as the first one. The first one had more interesting scenes. The new one somewhat lacked that.

Rest in peace to famous music composer (Who I don't think I've ever listened to, though apparently he did the soundtrack for The Land Before Time, which were totally my childhood movies) James Horner, who has done quite a lot of soundtracks since the early 80's

I had no idea he died. How sad. I have several of his songs on my iPod and Land Before Time music will always have a special place in my heart.

I think Mad Max: Fury Road is one of the most memorable action movies I've seen in a while. I wanna watch it again and that is super rare for me with action movies because I usually think they're so boring.

How about that True Detective, everybody? I just watched all of it last week (both seasons). Season 1 is amazing, it's a great mixture of crime thriller, family drama, and existentialist horror story. Season 2 is kind of a mess, but I liked the third episode. Haven't seen the very latest one yet.

I thought Season 1 was really good - good plot well executed, great acting (I thought McConaughey and Harrelson were really good together), Season 2 I thought right off the bat wasn't going to be as good as the second one. I feel like there are too many main characters: Velcoro, Bezzerides, Woodrugh and Frank too name just the four main ones, and I don't really know who the story is supposed to be about. I've seen 3 episodes, I understand the plot, but mainly it's just a slighty colour-bleached blur of smouldering looks, physical violence and people spouting quasi-philosophical rubbish. Perhaps watching more episodes will reveal more and make it more coherent. I also found it tough to adjust to Vince Vaughan playing a serious character, considering his history as a comedic actor (at least, AFAIK).

On another note, I know it's old (finished 5 years ago), but I've just finished watching LOST yesterday, and I thought the whole series was excellent, and the ending, after some initial sceptiscism, I thought was fantastic. What are other people's thoughts on the show as a whole, and particularly the last episode/ending, if you can remember it, as I know the ending divides opinion somewhat.

Anyone seen the trailer for The Revenant?. It's hugely popular so probably, yeah. The trailer doesn't really tell you much about the movie but god damn the cinematography is amazing and the trailer is pretty neat nonetheless.

He did good dramatic work in an old '90s movie called The Cell, from before he was famous... it's surreal horror and not for the faint of heart, but if you've got a strong stomach and don't mind feeling like someone slipped you some LSD it's awesome and, like I said, Vaughn's performance is really good.

The series up until the last episode was definitely holding my interest... that ending completely alienated me, although it's because I'm an atheist so take my feelings about this particular series finale with a grain of salt.

I just kinda thought it was bland from what I remember of it (I barely remember the show right now), so I can't really comment on it for myself.

Just watched 71 the other day, pretty solid film on the troubles i must say so myself, and its from the perspective of a British Soldier who gets lost in the city after a riot which is a nice change as well. It and Bloody Sunday are probably my two favourite films on the Troubles, though there is another one... that i cant remember the name of about the Birmingham six i think it was, it was pretty good as well.

There was In The Name of the Father about the Guildford Four with Daniel Day-Lewis and Pete Postlethwaite, which is a marvellous film.

So has anyone else been watching Humans on AMC? Just watched the season finale last night, and I have to say so far they've got an excellent show going... can't wait to see what happens in Season 2.

I think if anything, it was spiritual, not religious (if you can separate the two). It was all set in Eloise Hawking's church (which is never identified as a Christian church, nor any other denomination, and is actually covered with symbols from all faiths - symbolising faith as an abstract notion, as opposed to one single religion), and the one reference they make to Christianity is someone highlighting how silly the name 'Christian Shepard' is.

I thought it was a good ending, and more importantly the right ending. They needed to be able to get all the characters together for one last moment, and obviously it couldn't happen in the real world, because half of them were dead. Whilst yes, it was a bit surreal and spiritualistic, I thought it was a great way to finish the series - it gave a real sense of finality.

The last episode as a whole I thought was really good. They could have set it all up for the epic Locke vs Jack fight, but that happened in the first half hour, leaving an hour for the aftermath, goodbyes, reminiscing etc. (the parts where characters touch in the 'other world' and then they suddenly start 'remembering' was pretty emotional), which allowed them to round off a character-based series on what was most important - the characters.

Whilst yeah, I agree that it was somewhat religious themed, I think that helped it, not hindered it.

I would assume so since nearly everyone on the show's got a British accent, but being American I have no idea if it was a Channel 4 show in the UK or not. It's got Gemma Chan as the main robot, Colin Morgan as a main character I can't really explain without spoilers, and very famous American actor William Hurt as an elderly recluse who doesn't want to upgrade a robot he's grown attached to (Will Tudor).

It's really difficult for entertainment-type stuff to make me cry, so I give mad respect when it accomplishes that. The list so far (not counting stuff I saw when I was a little kid, since it was a lot easier to get me crying back then):

Star Wars: X-Wing: Iron Fist (book)
The Silmarillion (book)
Frozen (movie, the song "Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?" in particular)
Humans (TV show, Season 1 finale)

That's it. Since I turned about 8 years old, only 4 things have made me cry, so Humans is doing something right.

I started crying to films a lot more ever since I watched Bridge to Terabithia, but even then it is still pretty rare. A lot of stuff that makes people cry I just roll my eyes at because it's so boring and blandly done. And even Bridge to Terabithia didn't make me cry the first time because I think I was in shock or something (Watched it again the same day and cried the second time)
