Mad Max is one of my favorite film series of all time. I'm seriously excited for the new one.

I've never watched a movie where half of it is one giant car chase scene, so even though i haven't watched any of the old Mad Max movies, I'm gonna watch this one.

No, it's not, it's a movie about a guy who's trying to survive the post-apocalyptic Outback and keep his sanity.

Saw the trailer before Age of Ultron on Monday - it looked fucking terrible.

Meanwhile, I think Age of Ultron looks boring as hell.

Though honestly it wouldn't surprise me if Mad Max doesn't end up being that exciting, but at least for me it looks stylistically more interesting.

Mad Max looks interesting, it will be a visually stunning film at the least judging from the trailers.

Yeah. Visuals don't MAKE a movie for me, but they can certainly help. The visuals in the apocalyptic movie The Road made the movie even more epic because they were soooo well done. It wasn't like "Hurr durr put stuff here to make it look apocalyptic*

I think I see what you mean, but I'm not some movies would survive with "lesser" scenery. Filming the Lord of the Rings in Nebraska probably wouldn't have worked. ;)

They don't make a movie for me either, though they most certainly do help if they are done right.

For mad max I'm not expecting something great, but as long as the plot is okay I won't mind

Well, obviously :P Good visuals, no matter where (Filming, say, a movie based in Nebraska in the Colorado Rockies would be silly), is definitely a good thing. Visuals definitely push up movies. BUT the main thing I was really saying was that a movie solely about visuals but consists of a shitty plot full of only explosions?...That won't make the movie good for me just becaise of the visuals. But HAVING visuals be stunning in a good movie definitely helps, if what I'm saying makes sense.

It's apparently beautiful mayhem on wheels, and apparently some reviewers thinks it's the best mayhem on wheels ever. Most of them say there's so little plot that you can pretend it isn't there while you watch stuff blow up real good.

The trailer actively turned me off the movie, so I'm not gonna see it. I recently rewatched both The Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome, and they're my favorite Mad Max movies so far.

I saw a preview of it a few days ago and I must say, Charlize Theron seems to rock. And I haven't seen the movie yet.

I recently watched the Iranian vampire movie A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night and I must say, if you like the vampire genre, this one is worth a look.

I thought it looked stylish, but while I wanted to see it, I expected it to probably not be really that exciting. Still sounds like there's probably not much beyond "Omg action", BUT it must be some pretty damn solid action film stuff to get that high of a rating.
