Marco Polo is a show that has a lot of potential, they just need better writers. It does get better near the end and it has some interesting characters in it. And Chin Han as Jia Sidao was awesome.

Oh yeah he was great as well, easily one of the best. I would place him as my second favourite actor in the show next to Benedict Wongs performance.

Benedict Wong was awesome as Kublai. So happy he took it as he was thinking of not accepting it originally apparently.

I also like Yusuf despite the lack of lines and appearances.

Yeah i remember reading about that, i believe he also mentioned it in an interview. But im glad he took it as well, he is just brilliant in the role.

I'm hoping next season they drop a Star Trek reference by having someone shout "KHAAAAAN".

It's got some great performances but the behind-the-scenes direction seems haphazard and unfocused, likely owing to the large and comparatively inexperienced directing staff.

I feel like it would've done much better as one of those "history as drama" things that the Hi(ck)story channel is really good at making when they're feeling up to it.

I wish I had more to contribute to my own thread than I do :P. Music and video game hobbies are my main focus so I don't really have a lot to add here much...So, you know, I'm not really paying attention to any new movie trailers coming out or anything like that.

Am i the the only one here who just calls "anime" as "cartoon"? When people talk about an anime, I'm all like "why can't these people just call it cartoon"?

Because Anime is a specific genre of Japanese (or Japanese influenced) Cartoon/animated productions. Its a lot easier to refer to them as Anime so its clear what they are talking about instead of just Cartoons which is very broad.

I still just call them cartoons.

Nah. I call anime anime because it has a pretty distinctive style. Do I really watch anime? No. I'm not sure I've ever seen an anime in my life. But they have a very distinctive style and I think they deserve their own label. Which is pretty much a style where every other anime character has the freaking same exact haircut as another one :P

When I think of cartoons, I think of silly old Mickey Mouse cartoons, what's on Cartoon Network, Tutenstein or whatever the heck that show was called I used to watch, Kenny the Shark, ect. I don't even think of animated movies like Up, Wall E, and so on to be cartoons.

Say what you like about Jaws III, but it's a masterpiece compared to Jaws: The Revenge. The only good thing about that film is Michael Caine's response when asked about it:

I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific!

Jaws: The Revenge is a more enjoyable movie than Jaws III. That being said, Jaws III is still a better movie overall. Jaws should never had any sequels in the first place.

I loved the X-Files when it was first on, and the first 3-4 series are great - after the first film though, it started to go downhill (albeit not rapidly, as series 5-6 are still mostly good). I can't really see what they would hope to accomplish by reviving the show - the problem with the later series was the whole alien conspiracy thing had pretty much been done to death, so if they can bring it back more in the monster of the week fashion which it started with, then maybe it would be good.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one, there is nothing enjoyable about Jaws: The Revenge. I've seen some terrible films, but that has to rank in the top (bottom?) five for the worst ever.

It's a popular cartoon. Late January through March is also the annual movie graveyard, where marginally profitable films are sent to eke out a living without cluttering the more popular seasons.

Popular cartoon doesn't mean a movie for it should be taken seriously. At all...

Eh whatever. It's not like I don't go "What the heck is this the top for?" every couple of weeks anyway.

Very, very good. While the plot is kind of dull and cliched, the characters and writing themselves are good. I assume that's the reason it spawned a bajillion sequels, most of which were also pretty good.
