Lavan Tiri wrote:Before man and bird and beast and fish, there was Tree. Tree was tall and strong, and had many branches, where many tree-kangaroos and bats lived in peace. On of these kangaroos was a wise chief called Tith-iwatan, who had a son named Tith-unkara. Unkara was a curious lad, and one day he went on a journey. He traveled for many days and many nights, until he reached the bottom of Tree. Below Tree, there were her roots, and above the roots there was her face, a wise and beautiful woman, with black hair and green eyes like her leaves.
"Hello, Tree!", called out Unkara, for he was a polite young boy, and did not want to spurn her.
"Hello, Unkara! How are you today?", asked Tree, smiling, for rarely did she get visitors.
"I'm fine, this day.", replied Unkara, and he noticed that Tree's face was downcast."Why are you sad, Mother Tree? Can I help you?"
Tree's face lifted, and she smiled, for rarely did someone offer to help her, rather than ask her for something. "Yes, my child. I am sad, for two times ago, Night came to my sisters and I, and we chatted pleasantly, for Night has always been a good friend and a good man. But, later, as we slept, Night grabbed my sisters and ran off, taking them to his hut."
Unkara was sad for Tree, and so, he offered to go across the Sea and find where Night had taked Tree's sisters. The journey was long, and Unkara nearly died many times across, but he came to Night's house, and he walked up the path, and knocked on the door. Night came to the door, and when he saw Unkara there he greeted him as an old friend, and invited the kangaroo in, and they sat while Night's son, Life, made herb-drink, and when the drink was served did they begin to talk. Unkara confronted Night with Tree's sisters, and Night said "Tree is foolish, and you are a tool. For many times ago, I was promised to Rainbow, Tree's eldest sister, and two times later we were married. Life is her son, I simply brought my wife home."
But Unkara was not satisfied. He said "Then why did you kidnap them?", but Clever Night said that he needed for his son to have a mother, and was willing to take any risks to ensure that. But then, he continued "I shall give you a chance. Defeat my champion in three challenges, of Skill, Strength, and Smarts. If you win, Rainbow, Day, and Sea go back to their fool of a sister. If I win, they stay here, and so do you, as my servant."
Unkara did not want to be a slave to Malicious Night, but he had promised Tree. And so, he agreed.

You know, this isn't incompatible with my creation story. The dreamer dreams existence and the original god into being, the original god shatters due to the dreamer's stirring, and the fragments of the original god become the first generation of abstract concepts of the world like Tree, Night, Rainbow, Day and Sea.
