So, I've started watching My Bride is a Mermaid. I'm currently on episode 5.

On thing I will say, I do not like the way anime does action scenes. It's very stilted. But the characters are funny and likable, so I can get over the animation.
I don't know how long I'll be back, but I just thought I'd stop in and say hi, at least.

Why does Japan hate this franchise?

IKR? That was genuinely too bad to be accidental. The only explanation for that garbo misery is a deliberate attempt to make Berserk finally die. :(

Ingredients cost money, cooking costs time.

Money I could spend on anime, time I could spend watching it.

The ending of the Death 13 episode was funny. Don't really get much comedy relief in JJBA.

Probably to accommodate the rise of the other Black Swordsman.

Just finished the first season of One Punch Man, and I still don't really get all the hype. It was fine, don't get me wrong, a six or a seven, but it's not the best thing since slice bread a lot of people make it out to be.

I dunno, am I missing something?

I think it was just straightforward, well-animated, well-constructed, and above all else fun. Too many shows are either poorly-conceived garbage or overly self-serious dreck. It's therefore nice to have a show that's charming, cheerful, and casually punctures the recent trend towards endless character monologues about heavy backgrounds, really edgy MCs, and horribly weighed-down tragi-dramatic plots. The MC doesn't have some kind of special power set with a billion named moves and a really dark origin, like most non-highschool male MCs seem to. And OPM is not by any means a romance, because Saitama doesn't give two shits about that. It deliberately precludes taking itself seriously on every level. Onepunch Man is simple, refreshing, enjoyable, has a nice-ass message, and makes you want to grit your teeth and punch something. Because it's really nothing special and doesn't pretend to be, it's actually pretty fantastic.

That's what I feel, anyways.

Morose Mononokean is off to a good start. Hope it doesn't get too sappy with the premise, though.

I'm in the same boat, it probably has to do with not watching the genre it parodies. Shounen? More like, Nah Bro I'll watch a series that's less than 500 episodes and has an ending-nen.
Also started on FMA:
I was actually looking into getting a fig of Ed for a friend, but it would have cost me an arm and a leg.
Also, Alphonse's character strikes me as a bit hollow.

The funny thing is I've seen plenty of shonen. Some of them I rather hated, others are among my favourite series. I dunno, OPM just isn't for me.

True, but it seemed to me to parody shonen, but I guess that isn't really the point, the demographic names are more guidlines anyway, at least as far as I (a Westerner) am concerned.
