I finally got to finishing Gate.

I actually liked the second season better than the first one.
The narrative style kept me on the edge of my seat, the stakes seemed higher in this season due to the limited windows of striking a deal or keeping the opportunity very open. I liked the delicateness given to the diplomatic issue of trying to be defensive in uncertain situations...the subtle displays of power were really useful; though it was predictable due to Zorzal and the psycho Playboy bunny (and the resulting lack of action if that didn't happen), especially after the poisoning. The dragon fight was entertaining, Itami seemed more multidimensional in this arc too. Sherry's POV was also refreshing; even if SUGAWARA-SAMA! managed to be a bad diplomat, a good person, and an unintentional creep at once...or Sherry is anime's most crafty loli. The resulting standoff, Japan's action to react, the assassination attempts with Lelei's little subplot, and Piña's capture with the massive rescue operations were all very good. I was a bit disappointed that her rescue didn't seem more personal for Itami. Then again Itami already has three shadows behind him all the time, even if he misses the peace accords and a coronation. Piña just seemed the sanest harem option if would have been one.

Curious to note: though exotic waifus are handed out here and there in the pairings, the opposite doesn't occur even once; I saw it as quite the implicit message about who's expected to be politically passive. And also, the crew was lazy and gave the fantasy characters really Japanese gestures and customs, what with all the bowing, modesty, and apologizing, or the villagers at least- they shoulda really worked on making a more noticeable exoculture. But then again, most important characters are named after liquor...so whatever...

I was expecting it do take the plot in that direction but I guess I was wrong. Probably would have been better anyway

Actually I think

that Alice's (the main opponent in Der Film) mother still sponsored the museum in the end because they showed a scene where Alice and her teammates/friends were helping to touch up and refurbish the museum.

The OVA wasn't too bad, though it seemed kinda obvious there was only going to be one kind of ending to it.

The Ankou Dance OVA was probably the worst one IMO. It just felt a bit too weird and out of place. The swimsuit one was a tad creepy as well.

Honestly, though I don't get what is in that Anglerfish Dance. The first time I saw it when they lost the battle with St. Gloriana (Was that it, Darjeeling and Orange Pekoe, the Brit girls?), I find the dance pretty disturbing. (⊃‿⊂)

Kiznaiver continues to be a general disappointment. This weeks episode: Nori's crippling opioid and prescription painkiller addiction.
Nori tries/threatens to jump off the building, she clearly falls forwards OFF THE BUILDING, however when it shows her fainted later she's just in a ball on the edge, as if she collapsed to the side. She should be dead as her personality.

Also in Kiznaiver: Doing things Space Patrol Luluco was parodying last week. On the subject of Luluco, that show is still fantastic

Started working my way through the first season of Jojo:

Flipping Speedwagon. "HEY, JOJO!!! I JUST INEXPLICABLY SNUCK INTO YOUR MANSION, INDICATING I EITHER FOLLOWED YOU HERE, OR I FOUND A SECRET PASSAGEWAY AND HAVE BEEN HANGING THERE FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG. I dropped it after episode 2. Might have to try to take it back up to get a proper idea of the series.
