Don't worry, it gets worse. Granted, it's not that bad, but I feel the series would have ended off pretty nicely with the first season alone, plus epilogue.

Right now Black Butler and Naruto Shippuden. I'm so behind on the Naruto bandwagon
(Itachi just died).
Also, I'm conflicted because the show is good but I despise a good portion of the fandom (you know, shipping and such. Those who have finished the manga know what I'm talking about).

I both enjoyed and hated that show. :lol2: My friends and I were watching it fansubbed as it came out, so we had to wait a week between each episode (and six MONTHS between S1 and 2,) so the cliffhangers were especially crazymaking. And every character in that series except for the cat landed on my "needs to die in a fire" list at least once.

And yes, that includes the wheelchair-bound blind cripple. (Granted, she was the least consistent offender.)

B-b-but the cliffhanger.... Also, my favourite character didn't turn up until R2.

Lloyd Asplund is an absolutely wonderful person and my role model. :p

I really enjoyed R2, if only because Lelouch's continuing mastery over grand strategy and politics made it worthwhile.

In other (non) news, I finally finished Index II, which was enjoyable, but ended without any sort of resolution. A third arc would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. Though some of them were pretty low on the scale. Lelouch and most of his family members were the repeat offenders there. (Though, I gotta say, what happens to one of them in the end is even BETTER than dying in a fire. ) Lelouch is truly a Magnificent Bastard, but he is not a likable character. :P

I liked Lelouch in the first season. I admit I found him harder to like after
He killed Euphemia, even though he obviously regretted it. His actions in R2 made him even less sympathetic.

Yeah, he really went off the deep end after that. Given his geass, he of all people ought to have known better than to speak carelessly, despite not realizing the thing had leveled up! Sure, he did his damnedest to spin it to his advantage, but that one careless mistake was pretty much his start of darkness. Throughout the first season the political battle lines were much clearer and you had a decent idea of who was good and who was bad. R2 made an unholy mess of it between the different factions and the superweapon arms race. R2 has some totally badass mecha designs though!

I was looking around the anime...market plaza...and I found copies of DVDs, with names I haven't heard of. Has anybody here seen Super Atragon or Submarine 707R? They looked kinda interesting, I really liked the whole underwater Atlantis/Mu vibe, though from what I understood of the synopsis only the first one was like this. The second one is...about a submarine...for all I know.

Oh...and apparently what's all the rage now is Amazing Twins, Tsukimonogatari, and Nozo x Kimi. The fact I only knew (just barely because of Bakemonogatari) about one of them indicates my fears that I am indeed out of touch. But they all look so cute :p .

Ameriganastan wrote:You ever find a show that makes you go "Wow, that offends even me"? I just found that show.

The characters look...engaged. They don't look as cartoonish as the Hen Zemi cast, but regarding the content, I'll have to see it to believe it. No non-h series has outdone Hen Zemi in terms of disgusting jokes about bodily functions, paraphilias, and odd pseudo-psychology.

See, that's always bothered me as well: if he's so capable of seeing other people's weaknesses, why isn't he more adept at controlling his own actions and emotions? His interactions with Mao just foreshadow how effectively Nunnally will be used against him in the future.
But as for the mecha, they do get very pretty indeed. (My personal favourite is either the Tristan or the Guren SEITEN.)

*snrk* Yeah, it's a bit of a trek, but at least most of the arcs (even the longer ones) are pretty well paced. Also, totally bitchin' soundtrack. That's how my sister convinced me to start watching; we're driving up to Fanime a few years back. "Wow, this music is awesome. What band is it?" "This is actually the soundtrack from that Fairy Tail anime I keep saying you should try." "O rly? This is relevant to my interests!"

SAO but haven't really watched a lot of it since the gun part.

Currently, watching Fullmetal Alchemist. Really good.

I'm pretty new to anime. But some of them aren't bad.

If I recall, that's by the same guy that did Hoshi no Koe (Voices of a Distant Star) which also comes extremely highly recommended as a beautiful short film. Definitely one to watch subtitled though, the guy who did the English localization did a singularly lackluster job with it.
