I feel that Fluttershy is an uninteresting and aesthetically unappealing character.

I don't really get the appeal of bat ponies.

I can't speak of other bat ponies enthusiast, but for me, the appeal of it is 1) These are nocturnal ponies, and I am a nocturnal person by heart. I mean I do stay up to 1am to 2am depending on my work schedule. 2) It's one of those species of ponies that while they are canon thanks to episodes like Luna Eclipsed, Bats! and the comics, there's not much known about them, which leads to a lot of creative interpretation of them. 3) Also, I find dark colors to be aesthetically pleasing, and most bat ponies have dark colors that still fit within the MLP Universe.
