In general, I think that people naming and caring background characters that never talk is stupid. I think that gender swapped ponies are stupid. I think that Rarity fighting a crab is stupid. I think the Twicane is stupid. I think that treating the Princesses as gods is stupid. I think that Solar Empire vs NLR is stupid. I think that Changelings having a hive mind is stupid. I think that the over proliferation of OCs is stupid. I think that the sexualisation of ponies is stupid. I think that the villains are underrated. I think that the only cool thing that Twilight ever did was the Tirek battle, and that was WAY out of character. I think that people hating AJ is stupid. I think that people liking Rarity is stupid. I think that fanfics are stupid. I think that crossovers are stupid. I think that the over emphasis on friendship is stupid.

I like the "Lyra likes humans" thing. It's probably my favorite fan characterization of a background character (second being that Octavia drinks whiskey and lots of it). Still, I can see how someone might not like it, or might have gotten thoroughly sick of it over time.

My unpopular opinions:

I don't really get the appeal of bat ponies.

I don't understand why people like to combine pony and grimdark. There's plenty of other grimness and darkness in the world, and when I want either, I go to sources uncontaminated by adorable ponies. Likewise, when I want to see cute ponies being cute, I prefer them uncontaminated by the kinds of things I do for a living.

I think we need more Twilight, not less, and the more adorkable and nerdy, the better.

I think fans are entitled to like and dislike different things.

Well, there's the fact that I find Pinkie Pride deplorable, but we've all heard that one, and it's not that unpopular here.

Also, the S4 finale wasn't all it was cut up to be.

What Season 4 did wrong was much more flagrant than previous seasons.

The Mane Six are not, and do not have to be, paragons of their Elements.

The show really has wasted a great deal of its potential from the get-go, especially in expanding on its moral vision.

Critics, for the most part, do a service for at least the brony community, but underestimate their actual impact on the show itself.

Twilight hasn't been interesting since she became a princess.

The musical numbers are usually not that great.

Hurricane Fluttershy and The Cutie Mark Chronicles were not that great of episodes, especially the former.

My unpopular opinion is that EqG is a stupid idea.

It's not just stupid, it's anathema to everything the show was supposed to stand for.

But, I said it was unpopular, because lots of people here seemed to like it. Though I can't think of any opinions besides personal tastes.
