Only because he was saved by Twilight Sparkle and Princess Cadance.

But I mean...she fed on him. Like, to the point where she could bitch slap Celestia.

You'd think he'd die if he was going to die.

I doubt it.

There was enver any indication they die at the end.

No, but they do feed off of their victims. I think that makes them a host, since the changeling uses the hosts's love for substance.

You forget two things.

A) Its fucking Cadence. The princess of Love ffs. Yeah, i think he'd hold alot love for someone who embodies its existence.
B) Its a goddamn kids show. They aren't going to show anyone dying. So yeah, no fucking shit there wasn't any indication, because there wouldn't be. Does this one really need a goddamn Einstein to point out everytime? I guess it does.

They do have a parasitic relationship with their victims...I think victim is a more appropriate term, but host works as well.

If fed on at a great enough volume, yep it's possible, I mean it'd be like leeches, leave the host be long enough and they'll be of ample strength to be fed off of.

Mind explaining this? :)

Basically, it depends on the intent of the changeling. They can either make it painful like what we've seen in the show. Or if there is a connection between them then it'll just be like nothing. Also love taking in small quantities is nearly undetectable.

Actually no, it might have help solidify it a bit, but I did not create my headcanon based on Fluffle Puff.

Was it painful in the show? I recall Shining Armor having headaches, but I'm pretty sure that was just because he'd been working 'round the clock to shield an entire city and the magic comes from his head.
