Anyone know when there will be a repeat ? I can receive BBC 1,2,3 and 4...
Or alternatively the adress of a free, broadband, UK based proxy that allows javascript and streaming video compatible with iPlayer of course - though for some reason I doubt people are willing to donate all that bandwith ;)

It'll be on bbc3 tomorrow at about sevenish. I don't know the exact time, but that's how it is normally. Get a TV guide of some sort, they're invaluable.

Online worked :) Paper guides for some reason do not consider BBC 3 important enough.

I'm not sure about EPIC. I was pretty much "Meh" throughout the episode, although there were come bits that got a laugh.

Next weeks episode is already EPIC though. I didn't know Winston had the Doc's number :eyebrow:

The Doctor probably has most of the British leaders throughout time on speed dial. Or whatever the TARDIS equivalent is...

I quite liked saturday's episode. The quality of the actual ideas and plot were a bit meh, but Smith's really starting to show off his differences from Tennant. I think he will be a good incarnation, although I'm not sure if he'll beat Tennant as a phenomenal actor, personallity and general striking figure.

I was just left with a wonder of how a space whale thing evolves. I mean, it must have skin tougher than some metals, an insane breathing system, and one weird propulsion system.

Not that it actually exists, of course. I was just saying if it did...

The Breathing thing is easily solved, It skims atmospheres like an actual whale surfacing

That was vaguely what I was guessing, but it still raises the issues of whether it can survive certain atmospheres. And if it starts diving into a planet's atmosphere, it would be subjected to a lot of pressure. I was planning on producing a blog post about the whole thing, so I'm open to all suggestions...

Why must the skin be tough ? The pressure difference is probably only 1 atm ;)
Of course, I didn't notice how fast it went. At interstellar speeds dust could be a serious problem...

But it would be fairly dangerous for something to be released into a vacuum. But then where would the space whale have come from? Did they start as micro-organisms on a relatively small asteroid, or were the original pre-space whales inhabiters of space itself, which is pretty big, and dangerous so I doubt that. I vote that they were formed on a small asteroid, maybe the size of town or so, and then, after growing in size, creating some method of propulsion, and learning to take bigger, deeper breaths of an atmosphere - do asteroids have much of an atmosphere? Maybe rethink the size of the asteroid - they started making short trips through space, leading on to bigger ones, etc, until they can fly through space. Although the gas planet idea is interesting, and may be worth exploring...

having watched both episodes so far my son has come from im never watching dr who again to this doctor is my second favorite dr i also watched them both and matt smith does not have the presence of the previose two drs ( david tennant / christopher eccleston) but in fairness to him its only the second episode so far i havent included the prev doctors because they are a different generation (i e mine) and as such they will always be better for me than the new ones despite being sillier and wooden sets etc lol but the new companion amy pond what can i say apart from omg absolutly gourgeous in her police outfit only pipped at the post by rose tyler in her union jack shirt hanging from a barrage balloon hmmm mayby not;) lol.
dont count matt out he may grow into the role the enemys are already coming thick and fast its episode 3 on sat and i will see a dalek it will be a shame if thats the only time i will see one this series (as they are my fave enemy) but i have seen the adverts it promises cybermen, weeping angels, and a few even i havent seen before

VotD was brilliant, at least, until they replaced the Daleks with bumper cars. Thoughts? Comments? Oh, and don't forget to check my thread on the Forum! In the meantime, Viva la Daleks! Exterminate!

From 25 minutes in was, for me, quite possibly the most awesome sequence in all of Sci-Fi.

That is all.

Okay, it's not all. Agreed, VotD was brilliant. Even the new Daleks look awesome, despite their new 'chunkiness' - I feel it adds to the menace, seeing as they're now taller than The Doctor. On top of that the actor playing Churchill (Ian McNiece) was really believable (although it strikes me as to why The Doc didn't just go to him for help during the events of "The Empty Child", rather than faffing around on his own, but w/e), the music was fantastic and the overall story was just epic win. Hats off to Mark Gatiss for this one.

For me, the only fail bit was that they had to use some handwavium to get them Spitfires into space (a gravity bubble? Really?) but in comparison to seeing one of the primary aspects of my NS nation realised by the oldest Sci-Fi TV programme in the game, it was a very small fail.

Probably the most funny part was the Dalek carrying what looked like pizza in the corridor. Or was it the fact that the Doctor presented a Jammy Dodger as the TARDIS self-destruct?

New Daleks: The colour scheme is a lot better, and the fact that they are huge (and can disintegrate other Daleks) is just awesome.

Episode rating: 10/10!

Anyone got any ideas where the next crack in the universe will appear? It would be hilarious if it was on a Weeping Angel.
