I'm really old. I think that Tom Baker was the best Doctor. He played the character with an amazing franetic energy... although almost every one who worked with him thought he was a jerk. He was a hard act to follow and was followed by Peter Davison, generally thought of as one of the weeker Doctors.
David Tennant was definately one of the better Doctors - Smith has a tough act to follow, but I'm willing to give him a chance.

He brought a vunerability to the Doctor, and played all the bits seriously. After Baker chewing up the scenery, the contrast was too much for many Baker fans.

In The Last of the Time Lords, the Master gets shot by his "wife", Lucy Saxon. He refuses to regenerate, and apparently dies. The doctor then burns his body like how Luke Skywalker burned Vader's suit. As The Doctor leaves, the body burns away. But then suddenly in The End of Time, he returns.
