It's never really clicked with me how far health has advanced, until I compared Capaldi at 55 to Hartnell at 55.

I'm fairly sure it's a case of differing genetics more than differing health care.

But he's good at acting old. That's what made him so great.

Well, looking at Pertwee - he looks much older than Capaldi as well (or even Hurt) and is five years younger.

"Stress"?

WW2 was stressful for him? He did it for fun.

Question: Are these 11th episodes supposed to be shorter? Until now, they were like, 48 minutes long. Now they're only 41.

No - it all depends on the script.

Most off Moffat's episodes are a bit longer, probably around 46. I think Time of the Angels is 51.

Oh.

The episode lengths vary, really - it's only that the early parts of Eleven's run tend to be shorter, more succinct stories.

They get a bit more complex and, thus, longer, down the road.

You poor, poor person.

Victory's not completely awful.

It's better than most of the Dalek episodes of Davies' era, by virtue of not being terrible.

The Scot is a walking bomb. A walking bomb who is disarmed by making him feel the feelings of the memories falsely implanted in him by the Daleks.

That's fucking awful, frankly.

It's a nice scene for Amy - she knocks some sense into the Doctor, who is a raging bastard (in a good way) for most of the episode.

It's far better than pig-slaves, dick measuring against the Cybermen, and whatever terrible adjectives one can use to describe Journey's End.

I'm not saying the others were any better, I'm just saying Victory is right down there with them.

As an aside, I think Eccleston would have made Daleks in Manhattan work.
