Basically the Doctor had travelled back to the era of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. They were fearful that their high ranking soldiers were starting to rebel against them. The Doctor tried to mediate the situation but one of the soldiers killed a Knight with his bare hands. All the high ranking soldiers were wearing full armour and their visors were always down. The Doctor demanded they show their identities, but they wouldn't so he he ran up to one and lifted his visor.
Do you want to know what wore the suit of armour? The Weeping Angels!
They had started to wear this armour as it meant people did not look at them directly, since the armour concealed their identities, so they could move about freely. They were raising an army to take over the entire world.
Somehow the Doctor defeated them but I can't remember that bit.

Or she could be the Rani. The Rani killed someone - the Doctor. I don't think he would have had a wife though.

Toss up between the Army of the Weeping Angels and the Dream Lord.

He has had a granddaughter, which would - at least when the show was broadcast - implied marriage. Although that may be different. She would have been a Time Lord.

I'd say the Daleks, but the mob with pitchforks and flaming torches would run me outta the thread for saying that.
For me, my favorite villains have yet to appear. And they will appear.

The new series doesn't perfectly follow the old series. It is handwaved by saying "the Last Great Time War fucked a lot of shit up."
And about River knowing the Doctor's real name. Notice the foreshadowing in the Dream Lord episode where he mocks Amy Pond for thinking the Doctor trusts her by asking her if he has told her his real name.

Jog my memory. Are they the dinosaur things? Or have we seen them in the new Doctor Who (by which I mean 9th Doctor onwards. It would have been so much easier just to say that, wouldn't it...)

I'm not too sure where the crack was this time. I think it was either in the ground when the man got sucked in, or in the mirror when what's-his-face-yes-the-one-with-the-green-stuff-on-his-chest looked at it.
