How are we supposed to know that? And furthermore how are we supposed to know it doesn't say Isn't and the major plot point is that Clara doesn't exist and is figment of the Doctors imagination.
Actually on a serious note, that would be a really interesting concept for a companion.
My new theory is, based on the prequel, that Clara is a "perfect companion" for the Doctor, built by the Great Intelligence (and based on the Victorian Clara) to lore the Doctor to Trenzalore, which he's familiar with by virtue of the Whispermen.
The Whispermen are the criminals to the Silents' attempt at space cops, causing whatever is going to happen at Trenzalore (probably the intersections of timelines with Ten and Rose, which is bad for Space Reasons) for Space Reasons, which the Silents have mistaken for the apocalypse, for Space Reasons.
