Original thread here, second one made by The Corparation here.

The people have spoken and it looks like I'm the OP for this installment of the Thread for Gamers. How did this happen? I didn't even want the job. Well, whatever, five hundred pages and I can shove it off on someone else and go retire to some beach down south and I'm rambling now aren't I?

So, NSG, once again the question is asked: how do you game? Console, PC, phone, arcade? Pinball? Pencil and paper? Board? We don't judge here, except for the utterly ridiculous amount of judging everybody does all the time. Don't lie, we all know it's true.

Anyways, I personally like PC gaming, although due to technical limitations and lack of a budget to upgrade I've mostly been stuck playing GTA V on my PS3. Also have a Wii but I haven't used it in Jesus Christ I don't even remember how long.

And with that, welcome to the latest incarnation of the Thread For Gamers! Have fun, try not to get banned, and remember that two plus two equals two!

Just one more addition. Please keep civil, abide by the forum rules, and most importantly, enjoy yourself!

Darkish Souls is a must-read. Came for the parody, stayed for the legit plot and badass fight scenes.

I guess I shall be the first to post in the new gamer thread.

I game mostly on consoles, but there are a couple of PC games I love. (Binding of Isaac and SMITE)

As for my consoles, I have PS1,PS2,PS3, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Color, and this piece of crap computer I'm on right now that can most flash games without a problem.

Almost forgot to mention I now own a smart phone, so there's that.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

I guess he or she is following the old rule of Capcom of never releasing a fourth game in a series. :p

By that logic, we should make the next thread TFG 6.

To be fair, Wis did name the last thread "Thread for Gamers 2: The Three is a Lie." so there technically wasn't a third one.

No, this is the third one.
The lineage went like this:

1 -> 2 -> 2 -> 3

I plugged that into a rudimentary sequencer and it spit back this:

   1 2 2 3 7
1 0 1 4
- 1 1 3
2 2

Now I don't know what the fuck that means but I'm assuming it's saying that the next thread will be TFG 7.

Anyways, to celebrate the return of my beloved thread: I wish to reify this statement into the annals of history. This statement is to be read to the tune of "Livin' in the Sunlight" by Maurice Richard.

History wrote:The world trembled that moment when free PC gamers stood against tyrants; All hope seemed lost as the forces of darkness has seen fit to censor those who would oppose them. But on the ninth day, their struggle became the salvation of all gamers as the shackles of censorship were destroyed for all eternity.

So. This thread has returned.

I wasted my life on consoles. That being said, Destiny was fun.

I wish for more frames and cross-platform capability.

AND ALSO: Release this on PC with save transfer capability.

Got back into Dark Souls. Made a new character since it would take hours to get enough Sunlight Medals, ended up being a dexromancer. Times are good, now I can actually hold onto soft Humanity.

I've been hearing that the end game for Destiny is non-existent, which I can't say I'm entirely surprised by.

Once you get used to 60 FPS, it becomes less of a desirable feature and more of an expected property.
For example, I still refuse to play NFSW because of the 30 FPS cap. Not only because they're trying to limit me, but because games are basically unplayable at anything less than 45 or so.

Not to mention when in-game situations become so graphically intensive, the hardware sometimes struggles to cope with the intensity.

The game has a 10 year plan, as stated by Bungie.

Which means I will be 30 by the time the game ends. Damn.

I was talking about PC. My rig could easily get 80+ fps on NFSW, but the game is locked to 30.

So in short. People who say that it's bad at players finished it in...a few hours now look stupid?

Has anyone ever met anyone who calls themselves a strategy gamer yet never heard of Command and Conquer/Age of Empires/Warhammer?

Those games are almost anachronistic. It's perfectly fair for someone to not have heard of them.

My rule of thumb is that the framerate of a game should match the refresh rate of one's monitor.

Most monitors are 60 Hz, so 60 FPS should be the standard.

True.
Also I'd much rather have 2560x1080p60 than 1920x1080p120.

I consider myself a strategy gamer, but I do not play RTS games.
