Real urban warfare in Arma. Jesus.

You know why Arma can't into Urban, right? The AI needs to calculate all those little spaces in urban areas, and it just can't handle it. It improved in 3, but it's still not there yet.

>Be me
>Recon scout, hunting out enemy positions
>Decide to take a lighthouse, use it as a vantage point
>Call up the bootlickers, tell em to send in a squad
>They enter the lighthouse
>It was an ambush, I see dozens of enemy soldiers swarming the hillside
>I call in for airsupport
>The plane arrives
>Bombs the soldiers
>Bombs the lighthouse
>Crashes into the lighthouse
>Lighthouse collapses
>Every soldier other than me dies
>I get a raise

>Siege of Konigsberg
>We are about to take the city square
>Cross the rail line, heavy losses on the bridges
>German artillery destroys one of the bridges, have to take vehicles the long way around
>Move into town proper, heavy losses from infantry in the buildings
>The open streets are massacre zones, infantry gets slaughtered
>German 88s are set up a mile down the road, kill my T-34s when they get into sight
>Finally take road, clear buildings
>Fighting apartment to apartment, while getting shelled
>German Panzer IV drives through the building my infantry are hiding in, collapsing it and killing everyone
>Kill the PzIV, ammo cooks off and levels the whole block
>Make it to the river, killing 88s
>German Arty is non-stop
>Panthers show up
>Kill their counter attack and mass forces on the river for a crossing
>Cross the river. It's a massacre but I will endure these losses.
>T-34 gets shot in the flank
>There are Hetzers hiding inside a building
>Level the building with Katyusha rockets
>Just fucking destroy everything with katyushas
>Infantry and IS-2s clear what's left of the square
>Take fire from infantry holed up in the rubble
>More katyushas
>More katyushas
>MORE KATYUSHAS
>Square is clear, I win
>1000+ losses on both sides

So far, my attempts at playing EU IV have resulted in floundering about trying to play as Switzerland on my first go, hoping to conquer the world.... Apparently, I can't even conquer a neighboring province...

Also, for some reason I feel like adding a ton of people on Steam...

EU4 is brutally punishing if you try to just conquer everything you see.

I was trying to retake a territory Switzerland had claim on, but was owned by another country.

I did, however, manage to take hold of the Blackfoots on one of my Kiowa games...

Yeah, but I think its something they should definitely be working towards, as opposed to going backwards (for lack of a better phrase) by going to something like the Falklands.

Trade isn't something you really do. Trade is something you spend a minute setting up and then ignore for fifty years as it works itself out.
