To be honest the Falklands war would be dull. The terrain would be just, ugh.

I think the next ARMA should really push itself into making a more 'filled' map. Instead of taking place on small islands they should go for a proper big country with actual towns and cities. Not just one small town and a few villages.

ARMA3s map was pretty impressive in terms of how it was filled out. with buildings etc. but I really think they should keep going bigger.

I think it would be great.

If you have to set it on an Island, go for something that has the kind of Density the UK has around London. Plenty of open spaces and small towns and a huge city to fight through.

I think the mechanics of ARMA would make proper urban combat amazing.

This was always my favourite cut scene from Halo 2, and Blur Studios made it even better. Holy fuck this scene is awesome, especially when those two longsword fighters come down towards the end.

Oh the nostalgia, i would love it if a movie was made using this engine.

Digital Sarajevo.

You know, if they could figure out a way to do it as a realistic story, and if they can make the map large enough, they could do the New York area. Manhattan would give you some nice urban combat, and Long Island has some good suburban and semi-rural looking areas. If you could blow the bridges and dig in, force an amphibious crossing....

One of the best characters in the series, he is just awesome. The book about him on Harvest was pretty great as well, if you can get it i would advise it. Its a pretty solid read.

It would be hell. It would make Stalingrad look like... I don't know. I'm not sure there's a battle you can compare it to. Basically the only limit would be how many men and how many bullets you've got. Either clear the city building by building or burn it to the ground.

It's set up like that!

Conquer territory your citizens don't want? OE spirals out of control and rebels start rebelling.
Conquer territory your neighbors don't want you to have? AE spirals out of control and everyone starts invading you.
Conquer too much? WE spirals out of control and more rebels spawn.

In other news, I'm really starting to emerge from the learning phase of Elite: Dangerous. Charting systems can get really bloody annoying. Judging distance and direction can get screwy sometimes. It's really difficult to re-orient yourself when trying to chart the moon system of a gas giant. And things get even worse when some prick tries to interdict you and (I let them)/they succeed. Try to figure out where you were going before you got interdicted is just . . . ugh. It's even worse when the blasted guy who interdicts you has a clean record.

Well if that's the case, then MTW2 isn't as good of a wargame as EU is.

If you invade a major world power, everyone who isn't at odds with that world power is going to be pissed. For example see basically every major European conflict in history.
