I think Shadow of Mordor is like a mash up of Assassins Creed and Batman: Arkham Asylum in Middle Earth, with the really entertaining to mess around with nemesis system that makes the whole combat world feel so much more alive than "Hurr durr orc slaughter fest", even though there's a lot of that, too. And in general the world feels alive in a good way, instead of just like "Let's spawn stuff everywhere because". I've played my fair share of games like that, mostly free-to-play MMO's.
I think my dad said that the game can have up to 60 orc's on screen at once. I had a pretty ridiculous amount after me a few times while in strongholds...
Luckily unlike AC, you have no chance of beating all 60 by holding down a button and occasionally tapping another.
