I think Shadow of Mordor is like a mash up of Assassins Creed and Batman: Arkham Asylum in Middle Earth, with the really entertaining to mess around with nemesis system that makes the whole combat world feel so much more alive than "Hurr durr orc slaughter fest", even though there's a lot of that, too :P. And in general the world feels alive in a good way, instead of just like "Let's spawn stuff everywhere because". I've played my fair share of games like that, mostly free-to-play MMO's.

I think my dad said that the game can have up to 60 orc's on screen at once. I had a pretty ridiculous amount after me a few times while in strongholds...

Luckily unlike AC, you have no chance of beating all 60 by holding down a button and occasionally tapping another.

That's not a logically flowing computation.

Why not? It doesn't seem bad to use elements from other franchises if you improve on them or use them in new ways.

Just wait for Activision to buy the franchise and turn it into a cover-based third person shooter.

Activision? Hue.

Wait for Ubisoft to buy it, turn it into a GTA clone, and have it so filled with bugs and poor optimization that the game becomes unplayable every 44.8 seconds.

And then make like seven hundred more of them.

The really funny thing is that this game is brand new but its minimum requirement are listed as

Pentium 4 1.8GHz
or
Athlon XP 1700+
or equivalent

GeForce 210
or
Radeon X600 Series
or equivalent

1 GB RAM or more

Windows XP or higher

this game might actually run on an xbox one

That's not a logically flowing computation.

I like Assassin's Creed games, but doesn't mean I don't think the series is being drawn out way too much. I want them to do something new again at least...

And, especially the first game, Assassin's Creed games tend to be more repetitive than Shadow of Mordor pretty quickly to me. The first game was the definition of repetitive from what I've heard from...everyone, and at least when it comes to the fighting in most of the others, it is pretty repetitive as well.

But still, I enjoyed Assassin's Creed 2 quite a bit. Ignored the first one...

http://www.pcgamer.com/revisiting-crysi ... ay/#page-1

This is a well-written analysis on the decline of the Crysis series. I love the author's conclusion:

PC Gamer wrote:In a way, it makes sense—Crysis is a microcosm of the PC gaming experience. Everyone lauds it for its technical accomplishment, but less recognized is the freedom the platform provides. I love PC gaming because I can build my own machine, tweak my OS to my specs, even mod my games to my liking. I can use whatever control setup I prefer, to the point of building a cockpit.

PC gaming is empowerment; it’s about answering “yes,” to the “can I…” question. And so is Crysis. It’s a game anyone can play in the way that suits them best.

Its sequels, on the other hand, are more in line with the console experience. Sure, they might be a bit more polished, but they’re more on rails, more curated. “Can I…” tends to lead to more “no” than “yes.” Can I knock a guy out and drown him? No, because I don’t have knockout darts any more. Can I take cover behind this tree only to have some guys shoot it down in order to kill me? No, because the physics system is less complex.

Crysis wasn’t just a tech demo. It was an evolution of the genre that provided more fidelity of interaction than any other game that came before. Few games have managed to top its ability to empower the player. Will we see another game like it? I hope we do. In an era of dull, “do what I tell you” shooters, Crysis is still a breath of fresh tropical air, proof that the genre can be more than mere pointing and clicking on things until they die.

Yeah, you're right. I have all the DLCs bought.

Having played Dragon Age 2 first because I am an idiot, I find myself playing more of the first game than the second.

Finally took down this annoying Uruk who kept increasing in power without me even doing anything other than dying in his area by someone else...Well, at least I hope, anyway...I sliced him in the throat with an instant kill stealth attack, he should be dead...But he's already "faked" his death once, he might again...

That parkour moves in Batman doesn't involves climbing walls. And with gliding.
