I don't know.

I thought it was OK, but not great.

To be fair, it's a good movie.

I found it personally boring, though.

Plus, lotsa flaws... Hakuna Matata included.

A bit, I suppose. Always admired the designs and the characters were varied visually, that probably caught my eye as a kid.
All the princess and talking animals stuff is over-rated usually. Can't think of any of those that I especially liked... Bartok?
I mean, Fantasia doesn't count does it?

Not really... Who the heck is Bartok?

And I don't see what the problem with princesses are if they're good characters and good role models.

Belle from Beauty and the Beast, for example, Rapunzel, the princess from Enchanted, the black girl from Princess and the Frog, and, shit, Kida from Atlantis.

Fuck, out of all of those examples, Kida is probably the weakest character. She only appears in the last half and develops a relationship with Milo in a day. Yeah, they don't kiss, but the implication she's a love interest is rather typical of Disney princesses compared to the others, isn't it?

Aren't they married in the awful sequel?

I think that's because Atlantis wasn't supposed to be a lovey princess movie, so it's natural that she was a weak character. I didn't think they needed a love interest, but Disney always has to push it into everything they do...
Bartok the Magnificent, it's a weird little film from 1999.
I didn't even bother with the sequel. I knew they'd mess it up.

That's the thing. I don't think much about it.

It was... Fine... I guess.

I liked the captain cat lady and the rock guy. Kinda wanted the movie to be about them, rocking around the universe dealing with a mutinous crew.

But, of course, the rock guy got disappeared because fuck.

And, instead, we go the Martin Short robot as a... I can't call him a replacement, because a replacement would imply he were an equal addition that filled in a hole.

I thought the steampunk additions were pointless. Some of the designs were interesting, but they didn't spend much time analyzing or using them. It's just Treasure Island... IN SPAAAAACE!!

Reminds me of Titan A.E., another kind of for kids and kind of for adults bomb.

The Anastasia sequel should have had Stalin in it.

Stalin doing sick splits and twirls as he sings about how many people he's killed and how Rasputin ain't got shit on him.

The Incredibles was pretty good, but for my money I'm going with Toy Story.

Also, Woody's Roundup was better than any song in Frozen.

I dunno, man. That one song the lesbian ice princess sings is pretty good. yeah it was annoying, especially since i heard it two-three times a day, every day for 4 months, but still. It's a goddamn good song.

Bridge to Terabithia solely because it had a huge impact on me when I was younger, in multiple ways. So while it may not be the greatest movie or anything, it still had a big importance for me, and it may sound ridiculous, but may have helped me be like how I am now. It was the first movie that really had any sort of emotional impact on me, and now, unless forced and ridiculous, I get emotionally impacted by movies and things a lot easier now, and I don't think that's really a bad thing. So just because of these reasons (and others), it's probably my favorite movie in general, even if there's still other movies I probably like more than it because they are in fact better.

God...there's too many to mention, and damn near impossible for me to choose just one...

Anywhoo...here's a list of some of my fav's (incomplete and in no particular order):

Lion King (only saw the first...I may have seen the second, but I don't remember for sure)
Over the Hedge
The Fox and the Hound
Aladdin (1st one)
Bambi
Shrek (again, only saw the first)
Fantasia
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious...--Michael Stipe

All your points are fairly valid, but regardless I like it now because I was amazed with it as a kid. The 1800s feel mixed with super-cool tech and alien space pirates, it's just everything awesome. I liked that they didn't spend time analyzing them, that likely would've just bogged down the dialogue.
If I recall correctly, the DVD version of Treasure Planet came with extra interactive disks and a plethora of bonus features that explained a few things about the world in more detail. Maybe you should look into that?
I vaguely remember watching Titan A.E. and judging from the sinking nostalgic feeling I get when I look at the screen-shots and plot summary it wasn't anything original.
As a side note; has anyone seen Iron Giant? Seems like that one deserves a mention here.

To be fair, you also made a great point: it's really goddamn different. It and Atlantis are big outliers. But, again, they're trendy, same way steampunk was. Lots of goddamn steampunk movies got made around the early 2000s. Remember Steamboy?

Also, shit, yeah, I didn't know Disney made The Iron Giant. Alls I know is that The Iron Giant's hype.
