I dont think they could have done it due to the age difference, as Ralph had the arcade gig for 30 years and he was programed to look like an adult where as Vanelope had only recently came to the arcade and was programmed to look like a child.

If I remember correctly, cart-racers like that have been around since the 1990's, so she could be way older. But meh. I guess that's something to admire about it.
