I'm not too big into garage rock. I might give those songs a listen anyways though.

I liked the Mikal Cronin one best. Catchy chorus.

The Terry Malts one was good too.

I really like early U2 1980 - 1983 ish, when they were usually considered post-punk rock. If that counts.

So apparently we have a Punk builder now. Y'all who actually know punk need to come vote before U2 ends up on top :p

There is not one, but two U2 albums on that list.

Id sooner see Green Day at the top of such a list.

U2 might have an album or two that can be described as post-punk, it doesn't mean we're going to let them desecrate a list of best punk albums. What did punk rock do to deserve that?

I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen. There's starting to be some real punk albums on the list, some of which will be popular enough to pass U2 in the next day or so.

The list was looking pretty grim for a minute there, I was frankly surprised.
I am often set to wondering if people know what the word "Essential" means. Its not a synonym for "Your favorite".

I do give credit to this builders though, it really gives me a chance to examine the music, to consider things i hadnt before.
It really surprises me what the music bean-counters consider Punk. That in turns makes me give things a second or first listen.
Same with the metal thread.

TRG, Death-- nice fucking reach back. I dont think it will get high on the list because they are so unknown but really man, nice reach back, if it just gets more people to listen to them its worth.

One of the most overlooked underrated bands in the history of Punk music.

That's pretty awesome.

I think their first album is amazing.

Do you like any of the punk/punk-related bands I like:

U2 (post-punk)
The Clash
Ramones
Blondie (considered punk rock)
The Police (post-punk, also considered punk rock for some reason)
Nirvana (debatable whether they're punk)
Stiff Little Fingers

The Clash are a bunch of sellouts! Punk is dead! :p

Nirvana is punkish. Grunge has some punk influence. They are good.

If Napalm Death counts then my favorite punk album would have to be Scum
outside of that Bad Religion How Can Hell Get Any Worse?
followed by Zen Arcade

I like my music like I love my cars: Old School, loud and fast

also by this point it's too late to say: I'm an elitist shit who hates pop punk.

Personally, Bad Religion are well within my definition of pop punk.
