Star Wars Battlefront III, What we can hope to see...

Postby Copek » Mon Aug 11, 2014 7:23 pm

Since the announcement of Star Wars Battlefront 3 at E3, there has not been a whole lot of information given about the game. Although I really want Battlefront 3 to be a success, I just think that it may end up being a disaster. After all, EA is making the game. All we can do right now is hope, wait, and think about what Dice could offer in the new Battlefront. I am going to share what I believe should be in the new Battlefront.

1. Ground to Space Battles - Just to be clear, I would be fine without this feature. However, having ground to space battles would be an amazing feature. And with Dice woking on the game, this could be a possibility since Dice is familiar with large battlefields. This would bring things up to the next level in gameplay for Battlefront.

2. The Basics - THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS DICE/EA NEEDS IN A SW BATTLEFRONT GAME!!! Instant Action and Galactic Conquest. These features have been around in both Battlefront 1 and 2 and it would be very disappointing to not have them in Battlefront 3.

3. Eras - Battlefront 3 should definitely have both the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil Wars. It would be really stupid of them to only include one era in a battlefront game. One thing that would be cool is to maybe add more eras like the Mandalorean Wars in-game or DLC.

4. Gamemodes - In Battlefront 2, they added many new Gamemodes to Instant Action like Hunt, Assault, Hero Assault, CTF, etc. I think Dice should expand on that and add more gamemodes like a zombie gamemode involving the Deathtroopers. Or maybe anOrder 66 mode. Hopefully they do not over do it and copy off modern Fps's like CoD.

5. Customization - Not only me, but many other people would want this too. Imagine being able to color your clonetrooper with many different patterns and styles. Your character would look even better with that Frostbite 3 engine too. Customization would add more freedom and creativity to the player. My only concern is that Dice would add equipment that boosted your stats and make the game unbalanced. New armor pieces should really be just for looks to keep things balanced.

6. Maps - My personal opinion for what maps should go into Battlefront 3? Basically, a few maps from both BF1 and BF2. Along with that, you could add more maps like Korriban or Christophsis.

These are just my personal opinions on what I think would make a great Star Wars Battlefront 3. Please do not hate on me just because you disagree with my opinion. What are some of your opinions and thoughts of what should be in the next Star Wars Battlefront game?

EA isn't making it, Dice is. EA is the publisher, learn 2 business. In all seriousness I really hope Battlefront 3 will kick ass, but I'm still waiting for the Division myself. Also this should probably be in Arts & Fiction methinks.

Still, EA could force DICE to rush production on the game, like they did with Battlefield 4.

I just hope EA does not do this to Battlefront III. If they do, it will probably be the last straw for people who still buy EA games.

I doubt they will, EA knows they've pissed off their consumers in the past few years. What with BF4 and ME3 both being rushed out by EA it's become pretty apparent people are fed up with EA ruining games. Plus it would be corporate suicide to ruin a Star Wars game, the hordes of the Internet would flood EA.

This should go in Arts and Fiction. Also DICE is not making Battlefront III, but their own personal take on the series.

EA doesn't think about its long term strategy, though. All they care about is making as much money as they can at the start.

There needs to be an option to go to either Third or First person modes, like in other Battlefront games.

Uh...you do realize EA makes like half their money on sports games (IE the safest investment ever), right?
EA can do whatever the fuck they want, basically forever. Get used to it.

...You do realize that not every game publishing company is Bain Capital, right?
And ME3's problems were really, really not the result of being rushed out. That's all on BioWare.
I do feel that EA had a more...erm...short-term...production strategy from about 2007-2012, but I think that they've started revising that in recent years, at least with franchises that have really, really not profited from it. DA3 looks damn good, and the amount of time they're taking for Battlefront 3 instead of just reskinning Battlefield 4 is encouraging.
BF4 itself being rushed, though? It doesn't matter if it's rushed, COD proved it - they'll still make shitloads. No reason to slow that down.

EA aren't idiots, and they do have a long-term plan. It's just not a long-term plan that many consumers have historically liked.

I'm hoping for it to be awesome, but since it's EA I'm already preparing myself for it to turn out as shit.

Hmm, they seem to have held of on the Dragon Age: Inquisitions after getting hit hard when Dragon Age 2 came out.

Seriously, Inquisition was in development under EA (if BioWare is to be believed) for weeks before DA2 even came out. If that's accurate, this game's been in some meaningful development stage or another for somewhere around three and a half years. That is a very healthy development span, at least in theory (assuming they didn't go all Duke Nukem Forever).

Considering they have been hit hard by consumers for them forcing out sub-par games, my guess is they are starting to change how they operate (I can always hope).

Oh, it's gonna look fantastic, I have no doubt about that. But these days it's a bad idea to trust game trailers. I won't be buying it for at least six months after release.

I won't be buying it for a while, either. I am first going to watch walkthroughs of it on Youtube to see if I like it.
