Alright, fair enough, no one is as psycho as Charlie Sheen. But you get my point, she's a bit too competitive to just write off as being nothing caused by exterior experiences.

I don't really see it. She does really enjoy competing, but it's not like an obsession or anything. There are plenty of other things she thinks and cares about more. It's just her choleric nature.

Well, here's my definition of being over-competitive. To give us an idea of what the other is thinking, of course.
Gym class hero. You know, those overboard tryhards in gym class. You know the ones. I've got a couple people who a borderline to that in my own PE class. Rainbow, on the other hand, or hoof in her case, would probably startle them. And not just for the fact that she's a flying, talking, colorful pony. That would be part of it sure, but let's pretends that didn't surprise them
They would all agree she is overly competitive, way more than is healthy for a gym class, and in many cases, most everything, and would begin debating as to why she acts like this.

Well, maybe for a gym class, but when she's not managing the weather or doing something with her friends, she's competing with other athletes in major competitions (or at least relatively "major") like the Best Young Flyers Competition or the Equestria Games, for trophies and ribbons and medals and bragging rights n' junk.

Uh, i can see you must not be familiar with major league atheletes or Olympains. They are competitive, but not that much.

I think we may be going by different assessments of Rainbow Dash's competitiveness, here. What incident exactly pushed her over the limit into being "that much"?

It doesn't take a single incident. It's a general sum of her actions across the board. That's what we've been discussing this whole time, not just one incident. Overall, she is very very competitive, a bit too much so, as sometimes it seems like life is the game she's trying to win.

Once again, I don't really see it. I see she's competitive, I see she's boisterous and easily excitable, and can be narcissistic and rude when the thrill blinds her, but a bit of that's to be expected with her choleric temperament and relatively young age. Competition and "winning" don't completely consume her every thought; she doesn't mock the other competitors, it doesn't affect her work, she doesn't often neglect her friends or their feelings for the sake of competition unless her pride blinds her. Dash isn't a pony I'd like to spend all my time with, and her highly competitive, energetic, somewhat egotistical nature can certainly be a problem sometimes, but her friends and the better parts of her temperament seem to keep her mostly grounded, and I don't personally see a reason to call her a psychiatrist yet. I guess we're just looking at her differently.

Different life experiences and such. Though, tbh, i think its hard to argue, it almost definitely has to do with being raised in Cloudsdale. We all know how full of pride they are.

Almost definitely. Pegasi in general seem to have a strong taste for the joys of competition and the thrill of victory, for better or worse.

Which is clearly problem for many of them. Spitfire, Lightning Dust etc.
Perhaps Flash Sentry became Royal Guard to escape from crazy Cloudsdale pegasi competition nightmare

Hey, Babs? It's a cartoon. Quit thinking so hard.
