I don't like The Lion King. It is too unrealistic. I didn't even like it as a kid. Disney should have just done a movie on Shakespeare's version of Hamlet.

Elton John was really good in it.

I thought it was one of Disney's best movies. I think an actual adaption of Hamlet would be a bit strong for kids though.

If you're watching an animated Disney movie looking for realism, you're doing it wrong.
The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie.

P.S. Thanks for the "invitation", Bearon.

No problem. I'll also be starting our first Disney debate soon. A Disney battle royal if you will. I'll have it up by tomorrow.

Ooo, a Disney thread. Interesting. Oh, and Bearon made it.

I'm going to enjoy popping in to this thread once in a while. So, The Lion King? Not my favorite Disney movie, but still a good movie.

Don't worry we're just voting on our favorite Lion King character right now. I do have to say that Lion King has some of the best songs disney has produced thus far and that no other Disney movie besides Tarzan has this many good songs per average.

Love the Lion King, best movie from when I was a kid, second only to Fantasia.

However, Walt Disney was a racist antisemitic, bigoted, bastard. Disneyland is one of the worst places to work for pay and benefits, and they treat their workers like mud. So,

While I enjoyed the Lion King, it's far too...generic-looking, for me.

I'm just not a funny animal lover.

I recently watched Dumbo on Netflix and I just now got the Jim Crow reference. :?

Now that's something I can agree with you on. The Lion King did have some pretty good songs, some that I will admit to sometimes listening to. I'm still a kid at heart, just look at my flag.

Anyway, your going to start a Disney debate? That's something I'm definitely going to want to see, and maybe participate in.

Agreed. However there are far more then just funny moments in Lion King and I believe it's an all around great movie in every category so I would actually give it an A- the minus because the ripped off Hamlet. ;3

I don't see why everyone's crazy about Frozen. Other than the pretty good soundtrack, the movie itself was pretty average. Have you guys seen Night Crossing? It's a pretty good movie.

Disney Princesses? Well, I do have my own favorite from when I was younger. Always liked that movie, was my mom's favorite too. I guess I'll save that for tomorrow though.

Frozen itself was an ok movie. There were a lot of plot holes and the songs were good on average with Let It Go being the best of them. Overall it's a C+ movie in my book. Also is Night's Crossing a Disney movie?

Yup. Made in a time when Disney was all serious.

It was made in 1982 as a Disney licensed film. Yes, it was a Disney movie.

I remember it. I especially remember the two evil women who kept saying things about a rhino to scare the kid.
